Alright, it is finally FRIDAY!! The second to last Friday OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!
This year has been crazy for me (especially since February when I went back to work full-time). Iāve been really pushing myself to show up and be authentic in relationships and GOODNESS has it been wearing me ragged.
I feel that armor building back up around me - and for me that armor isā¦.negativity. Anyone else?
Like, for real - I have been soooooo grouchy lately and YESTERDAY realized I need to SLOW MY ROLL and express some gratitude.
I encourage you to do the same! Throw some gratitude on your personal page and tag meā¦or drop your gratitude below!
I feel SOOOOO much gratitude for my partners at Northwestern University who have been working TIRELESSLY (okay, maybe they are a little tiredā¦we all are!) on a digital instruments project. Technology is HARD, yāall!! All the big tech companies make it look soooooooo easy and we get so whiny about it every time it doesnāt workā¦but itās a FREAKING MIRACLE! Thank you, God for making smart people who figure this stuff out and thank you to Patrick and Ryan for slugging through it to bring my students an opportunity for AUTHENTIC music making experiences.
I am also SUPER grateful for Keith - heās been busting his rear end lately to keep up with my high energy and high anxiety selfā¦our boys are soooooooo lucky to have a dad who loves them to pieces, gets down on their level and plays (and is SUPER silly with them) and a dad who makes self-care and his marriage such a priority.
Thereās moreā¦thereās always more to be grateful forā¦and Iām spending my morning sipping my coffee and meditating on those things as well. Seriously - share below what youāre grateful forā¦even if itās something SUPER smallā¦it seriously changes the entire day.
Also: special shout out to Cecile T Johnson for modeling her gratitude practice on social media...Cecile, you are such a blessing to the world. Love you!!
