🪷 AFFIRMATION🪷

This month's affirmation is one of gratitude. Say it now: “I am grateful to be alive.” Addictions, abuse, su***de, anxiety and depression have increased over the last several years. No matter what is happening in our lives or in the world, we have a choice as to how we respond. We can choose peace. We can consciously shift our thoughts to love or gratitude. Your life will change when you begin and end each day by saying or writing at least 3 things you are grateful for. Say this affirmation of gratitude often: “I am grateful to be alive.”

💫ARCHANGEL JATHRIA💫

This week I am going to introduce you to Archangel Jathria who works with me and my clients and wants to help you too. She is the Archangel of forward movement and will help you move forward in a positive way in your life.

Use your own words or say something like: Archangel Jathria, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me move forward in a positive way in my life.

You can even be more specific and say something like: Archangel Jathria, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me replace any negative thoughts with positive ones and learn to love myself more.

🪴We hear a lot about the Law of Attraction, but we don't always understand what it truly means. It's easy to take the superficial view that all you have to do is say a few affirmations and you'll draw to you what you want. In truth, it's far deeper than that. You attract people, experiences and things through the vibrations that you send out into the world. Who you are, the words you speak, the thoughts you have and the actions you take all work together to create a vibration that becomes your life. When everything is aligned in a positive way, life becomes easier and you pull to you what you want. Remember being told: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all? As it turns out, that's profound wisdom. Last week Stephan A Schwartz talked about how lasting change is created by people making consistently compassionate, life-affirming choices. The words you speak should be among those positive choices.

💐I used to say that the worse place to live was in my own head. From the outside looking in, everything seemed perfect. I had done what I thought I was supposed to do to be happy, and I wasn't. I would look at my impressive resume and feel no joy, only what I still hadn't accomplished. At some point, I decided that I had had enough. It was time to find a new way of looking at the world, a new way of thinking. Somehow, I had to turn the kaleidoscope, to find a new philosophy, a new way of being. During this search, I came across A Pocketful of Miracles by Dr. Joan Borysenko. She made meditation simple. Not only simple, but structured. There was a daily thought accompanied by a prayer or practice. This led me to the spiritual path that I am on today. Dr. Joan was one of my powerful teachers, and I am very grateful that she agreed to be on the show.

💜Alan Watts is best known as an interpreter of Zen Buddhism and of Indian and Chinese philosophy. Through his writing and speaking, he became known as one of the most original philosophers of the 20th century. He was the author of more than 25 books and numerous articles which applied the teachings of Eastern and Western religion and philosophy to our everyday lives. He wrote the first best-seller on Buddhism, The Way of Zen. The critic Erik Davis said: his writings and recorded talks still shimmer with a profound and galvanizing lucidity. Now, we have more insight into the man and his teachings through his personal correspondence with such luminaries as Joseph Campbell, Henry Miller, Carl Jung and Aldous Huxley. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gary Snyder said: “he was always a grand and instructive friend to me. Yet it took some years after his death before I could see and appreciate the whole.”

🌳Bullying and mean girls are terms that we hear a lot. What no one admits is that mean girls is another way of saying bully and bully is a way of hiding the truth. It's all abuse. Yes, abuse is happening in our classrooms, schools and neighborhoods on an ongoing basis. We minimize it believing it's just a childhood phase. The problem is that these children grow up to be adults and the patterns of abuse that they have established continue into adulthood. The bullies even protect themselves from the truth believing that they've outgrown their childhood behaviors. Cliques and friendship clubs send a clear message to everyone that the people who belong are worthy and important and everyone else is not. Long after we've forgotten these childhood rejections they leave a mark on our self-esteem and our relationships. Schools, parents, coaches, camp counselors and anyone having responsibility for children need to help change this dysfunctional culture.
