Through all the worry, one thing remains unchanged: I survived. And I won.

Maybe not in some loud, first-prize, everybody-clap-for-me kind of way.

I won in peace of mind. In joy. In connection. In becoming someone I’m proud of.

God’s unchanging hand and power continue to sustain me. And through everything I’ve experienced, I’ve developed a deep confidence that I will figure it out. I’ll make it work. I’ll keep going.

No matter what.

And guess what?

You will too. 🤎

Family, friends, work, working out, and milestones for my baby. All I know is August was good to me and I hope I was for you and your family too.

To all the parents whose kids started school for the first time…how are you holding up??

All the faces I make when I hear a social media diagnosis. 😂

Listen, manipulation is tricky, so influencers weave pieces of scientific truth in order to get your ATTENTION and MONEY.

If you listen to social media medicine, you’ll be doing plenty of things you probably don’t need—and some of them may actually hurt you.

Here are 5 ways to protect yourself:

1. Don’t confuse symptoms with a diagnosis.

Bloating doesn’t automatically mean parasites. Fatigue doesn’t automatically mean adrenal fatigue. Weight gain doesn’t automatically mean a “hormone imbalance.”

2. Check the credentials.

“Health coach,” “wellness expert,” and “functional practitioner” don’t necessarily mean someone is qualified to diagnose or treat medical conditions. Know who is actually giving you the advice.

3. Ask, “What’s the evidence?”

A testimonial is not a clinical trial. “It worked for me” is not the same thing as evidence that it works for you.

4. Be especially cautious with medications and supplements.

Natural doesn’t automatically mean safe. Prescription medications aren’t harmless either. Don’t start, stop, or combine treatments based solely on something you saw online.

5. Take the information to YOUR clinician.

Bring the video. Bring the supplement bottle. Bring the screenshot. I would much rather you ask me, “Is this legitimate?” than quietly try a treatment that could interfere with your care.

Your doctor wants to keep you safe, and if you don’t have one, we’re currently accepting patients.

Brain fog isn’t just feeling tired or distracted.

It can feel like you know the information is there, but accessing it is slower or harder than usual. You might lose your train of thought, struggle to find the right word, or have a harder time concentrating.

It can show up during periods of high stress, poor sleep or major life changes, as well as during postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. Certain medications and health conditions can also contribute.

Brain fog isn’t a diagnosis itself, so if it’s happening regularly or interfering with your daily life, it’s worth talking with a medical professional.
