“Our goal isn’t to be divisive,” said Bryan Stevenson, the director of the Equal Justice Initiative. “Our goal is just to get people to confront the truth of our past with some more courage.”

The project’s aim is to be forthright about the horrors of the nation’s racial history, from slavery to Jim Crow, civil rights and the present day.

A state historical marker commemorating a 1960 sit-in by 34 Virginia Union University students was unveiled in downtown Richmond, Tuesday morning.

It's time that Dallas increase its focus on the historical marker that tell the stories of African Americans and Hispanics here in Dallas.

Arlington, Texas ranks fifth and Garland, Texas ranks ninth in the entire nation for racist tweets against black people. As noted in this study, tweets tend to be generated by a younger demographic.

A new analysis of the language that people use when they tweet shows that in Maryland, race is on our minds in a big, big way.

A memorial was held Thursday in downtown Dallas for Allen Brooks, the man who was lynched on a telephone pole there in 1910. Sebastian Robertson reports.

This is how Union Station looked when Allen Brooks was pulled by a noose from the second floor window of the Old Red Courthouse just a few blocks away. The lynch mob later came here and stopped the trains hoping to find more blacks to lynch on March 3, 1910. Thankfully, the city was effectively shut down lest more lives be taken.
