Most physicians get less than a week of nutrition education across four years of medical school. I was one of them.
The curriculum is built around diagnosing and treating disease once it’s present. Nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle medicine are minor electives at best — despite being root drivers of what fills hospital beds.
