Hi, I’m Julie!

With many new followers joining I thought it would be a good time to share a bit about myself.

I am a mom to two awesome adults, both of whom work with science in nature. How proud am I?! Currently we share our home with two miniature schnauzers, but we’ve had other pets from cats to guinea pigs, and many others in between.

I grew up in the Midwest, and my husband lured me to his part of the country, the Pacific Northwest. I love it here. Oregon has incredible beauty, from coastline to high desert, valley to mountains.

I’m a retired elementary school teacher. Having more time to garden, it’s become my passion! I grow mainly flowers and love to give them to friends and family, as well as selling by donation for our local Kindness Club, which helps kids with food insecurity.

I also love to read, hike, bake, cook, do yoga, hand stitch, and play flute with an orchestra. And to make natural skincare 💛🐝💛 for myself and to share.

Since I’ve turned my gardening passion toward flowers I don’t grow many vegetables at home. Just some tomatoes, a squash, and lots of herbs.

Instead I look to local farmers to support. They grow all the good things I could want with way more success than I’ve ever had.

Farmers markets are heavenly! How about you- what do you grow in your garden?

What a beautiful way to start the day!

Izzy and I love walking the trails that surround our neighborhood. Due to weather and cougar sightings we have put off the trail. We both loved our nature walk today!
