Your symptoms are telling a story, and they rarely exist in isolation.

Fatigue, anxiety, digestive changes, hair thinning, energy crashes, and mood swings can show up for many different reasons. That’s why looking at one symptom at a time often doesn’t give us the full picture.

This is where an experienced practitioner can make such a difference.

At Kristen Blake Wellness, our practitioners are trained to recognize patterns and look at how your symptoms connect. We take into account when they started, what makes them better or worse, your health history, lifestyle, nutrition, labs, and more to help narrow down the most likely root causes behind what you’re experiencing.

Two people can have the exact same symptom for completely different reasons.

Our goal is not to simply manage symptoms. We want to understand what may be driving them in the first place and look at the whole person, not just one piece of the puzzle.

If you’re tired of trying to figure it all out on your own, we’d love to help.

Book a Discovery Call through the link in our bio or comment HELP and we'll send you the link to learn more about working with the Kristen Blake Wellness team. 🤍

For some reason no one seems to be catching on to the black box warning issued on singular.

If you are on this med and feel it may be negatively impacting your mental health - speak with your prescribing provider and make sure they are aware of the warning.

Follow Dr Rubin for more up to date evidence based allergy information as well!

Have you take this med and had negative reactions like my kids did when they were little?! 👇🏻

We've become a society that's both **overfed and undernourished.**

Our soils aren't as mineral-rich as they once were. Many of us eat fewer whole foods than previous generations. Stress, medications, gut issues, and chronic illness can all increase our need for nutrients or impair absorption.

So yes—mineral deficiencies are common.
But here's what most people don't realize...
**More minerals isn't always better.**

Minerals work as a team. They have delicate relationships with one another.
✨ Copper is needed to help transport and utilize iron (through proteins like ceruloplasmin).
✨ Zinc and copper need to stay in balance.
✨ Magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium, and many others all influence one another.

I've seen people unknowingly create new imbalances by taking handfuls of supplements based on social media recommendations or a single lab value.

That's why I prefer to **test first, then treat strategically.**

One of my favorite tools is an HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis), which helps us identify patterns of mineral status and imbalance so we can create a personalized plan—not guess.

The best part? It costs less than $200 dollars, making it one of the most affordable functional tests we use.

💬 Comment **HTMA** and I'll send you more information about how we use mineral testing to build a targeted plan instead of throwing supplements at the problem.

💬 And comment TTSL for the FULL podcast episode - this one is action packed!!

I know we all learned the mitochondria is the "powerhouse of the cell" - but your mitochondria do far more than produce energy.

They also function as signaling hubs that regulate metabolism, stress adaptation, and aging biology.

One of the most interesting discoveries in mitochondrial research over the past decade is a peptide called MOTS-c.

Unlike most peptides encoded in nuclear DNA, MOTS-c is encoded within mitochondrial DNA itself. This means your mitochondria are not just energy factories — they are actively communicating with the rest of the body to regulate metabolic function.

Research suggests MOTS-c plays an important role in metabolic homeostasis.

Experimental studies have shown MOTS-c can:
• activate AMPK, a key cellular energy sensor
• improve glucose utilization and insulin sensitivity
• enhance exercise capacity in animal models
• help cells adapt to metabolic stress

In aging research, MOTS-c is being studied as a mitochondrial signaling molecule that may decline with age, potentially contributing to metabolic dysfunction.

While human research is still emerging, interest in mitochondrial peptides is growing rapidly within the fields of longevity medicine, metabolic health, and performance physiology.

This is one of the NEWEST peptides now available through EllieMD's physician-guided telehealth program that I trust and use.

Like I always say, there are no magic wands in health, and peptides are not a substitute for foundational health strategies like nutrition, sleep, strength training, and metabolic health optimization — but they may become an additional tool in personalized longevity protocols.

One of the common misconceptions about Long COVID is that everyone has the same root cause. Similar symptoms can have different drivers.

One may have autoimmune activation. Another may have inflammation, autonomic dysfunction, gut issues, nutrient deficiencies, or a nervous system that never returned to balance.

That’s why we don’t ask, “What’s the protocol for Long COVID?” We ask, “What’s driving this person’s symptoms?”

❤️ One client came to us saying, “I’ve never been the same since COVID.” As we addressed HPA axis dysfunction, stress physiology, & gut health, her energy returned and brain fog improved.

❤️ Another developed autoimmune symptoms after COVID and improved with personalized nutrition, AIP principles, & targeted support.

Complex chronic illness rarely has one cause or one solution.

We look at:
🧬 Immune function
🌿 Gut health
⚖️ Hormones + stress
🦠 Infections
💊 Nutrients
🔥 Inflammation
😴 Sleep
🧠 Nervous system

✨ If this sounds like you, comment HELP or DM us.

Your cycle is so much more than just your period. ✨

Throughout the month, your hormones naturally shift — and with them, your energy, appetite, mood, recovery, and even the way your body responds to exercise can shift too.

That’s where cycle syncing comes in. 🤍

By learning the four phases of your cycle — menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal — you can begin paying attention to what your body may need during each phase instead of expecting yourself to feel exactly the same every day (because spoiler alert: you won't). This way you can learn how to feel your best at ANY phase instead of being caught by surprise and having no idea how to navigate it.

Think: nourishing foods, movement that respects your energy level where it is at that time, intentional rest or focused work, and lifestyle habits that work with your body rather than against it.

And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

I created a FREE Cycle Syncing Guide that walks you through each phase step-by-step and gives you practical ways to start supporting your body throughout your cycle.

Comment 'CYCLE' below and I’ll send the guide straight to you! 💚

One of the things I love most about research is when it forces us to ask bigger questions.

For years, ASCA antibodies have been recognized as a marker associated with Crohn's Disease.

Some may see a positive ASCA result and think:
"Interesting. The immune system is reacting to baker's yeast."

This study asked a different question:
👉 What else is happening in these individuals?

Researchers found that people who tested positive for ASCA antibodies also had significantly higher antibodies against bacterial endotoxins (LPS) and proteins involved in gut and blood-brain barrier integrity.

In other words, the immune system wasn't just reacting to yeast.

It appeared to be reacting to multiple targets associated with immune activation and barrier dysfunction.

Now, does this study prove that barrier dysfunction causes Crohn's Disease?
No.

Does it prove that baker's yeast is the problem?
Also no.

But it does raise an interesting possibility:
Maybe some lab markers tell us more than we initially think.

Maybe the most important question isn't:
"What is the immune system reacting to?"

Maybe it's:
"Why is the immune system reacting so aggressively in the first place?"

That's the lens through which I view food sensitivities, immune reactivity, and many chronic gut conditions.

Because while identifying triggers can be helpful, understanding what is driving the immune response often provides a much more complete picture.

The reaction is real.
The symptoms are real.
But sometimes the most valuable clues aren't found in what the immune system is reacting to.

They're found in understanding why it started reacting at all.

What are your thoughts on this study? 👇

Do you think markers like ASCA are simply disease markers, or could they provide insight into broader patterns of immune dysfunction as well?

Anyone can hand you a protocol.
Not everyone stays with you until you're better.
That's the difference.

When you work with us, we don't disappear until your next appointment.
We're checking in.
Answering questions.
Adjusting your protocol.
Troubleshooting roadblocks.
Celebrating progress.

Because healing isn't linear.
And your care shouldn't be either.

I believe that's one of the biggest reasons our clients get the results they do.

The protocol matters...But the partnership matters even more.
And I truly believe I have the most incredible team of practitioners in the world.
