💧✨ STAY HYDRATED, GLOW INSIDE & OUT! ✨💧

Did you know hydration can play a role in how you look and feel every day?

Your body needs water for countless functions, including maintaining healthy skin, supporting circulation, regulating body temperature, and helping your cells function properly.

When you’re consistently hydrated, you may notice benefits such as:

💧 Healthy-looking skin — Proper hydration supports normal skin function and can help your skin look less dry and dull.

💧 Healthy hair & nails — Your hair and nails depend on adequate hydration and nutrients to maintain their normal structure.

💧 Less puffiness — Staying hydrated helps your body maintain normal fluid balance.

💧 Energy & focus — Even mild dehydration can contribute to fatigue, headaches, and difficulty concentrating.

💧 Better recovery — Water and electrolytes help replace fluids lost through sweating and physical activity.

And remember: hydration isn’t just about water. When you sweat, you also lose electrolytes such as sodium and chloride. Maintaining the right balance of fluids and electrolytes is especially important during exercise, heat exposure, and heavy sweating.

🌿 Simple daily habits:
✔️ Drink water consistently throughout the day
✔️ Eat water-rich fruits and vegetables
✔️ Replenish electrolytes when you’re sweating heavily
✔️ Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure
✔️ Get quality sleep
✔️ Moisturize your skin when needed

Your hydration habits can be part of your overall wellness—and sometimes, taking care of what’s happening inside shows on the outside.

💧 WHAT DOES THE COLOR OF YOUR URINE SAY ABOUT YOUR HYDRATION? 💧

Your urine color can be a quick way to check in with your hydration throughout the day. Generally, pale yellow urine often indicates good hydration, while darker yellow or amber urine can be a sign that you may need more fluids.

But hydration isn’t always as simple as “lighter = better.” Your urine color can change for many reasons, including:

🟡 Pale to light yellow: Generally consistent with good hydration
🟨 Medium yellow: You may want to keep drinking fluids regularly
🟠 Dark yellow/amber: Could indicate that you need more fluids
🔴 Red, pink, brown, or unusual colors: May have causes other than dehydration and shouldn’t automatically be attributed to hydration

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Supplements, vitamins (especially B vitamins), certain foods, and medications can change urine color. Medical conditions can also affect urine appearance.

💡 Hydration tip: Check your urine periodically rather than relying on one bathroom trip. Your hydration needs can change with heat, exercise, sweating, illness, altitude, and other factors.

And remember: thirst, how you feel, and your overall fluid intake matter too.

💧 WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU SWEAT? 💧

Sweating is one of your body’s smartest cooling systems—but when you sweat heavily, you’re losing more than just water.

When your body heats up, your sweat glands release fluid onto your skin. As that sweat evaporates, it helps cool you down. But sweat also contains electrolytes and minerals, including sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, and calcium.

When those losses aren’t replaced, you may notice:

⚡ Fatigue or low energy
💧 Increased thirst
🧠 Brain fog or difficulty focusing
💪 Muscle cramps or spasms
🤕 Headaches or dizziness
❤️ Changes in how your body performs

This is especially important during exercise, outdoor work, hot weather, or prolonged sweating.

💦 HYDRATION TIP

Water is essential, but after significant sweating, your body may also benefit from replacing electrolytes. Hydrating foods—like watermelon, oranges, cucumbers, and other fruits and vegetables—can help contribute to your overall fluid intake.

Sweat is good. Losing too much without replenishing isn’t.

Stay hydrated. Replace what you lose. Listen to your body.

☀️ Texas heat isn’t just uncomfortable—it can be dangerous. 🥵💧

The temperatures we’ve been experiencing lately have been extremely high, and spending even a short amount of time outdoors can increase your risk of heat-related illness. Whether you’re working outside, exercising, attending sporting events, or simply running errands, it’s important to recognize the warning signs before they become life-threatening.

Knowing the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke could save a life.

🔹 Heat Exhaustion

Your body is losing too much water and electrolytes and is struggling to keep itself cool.

Common signs include:
💦 Heavy sweating
😓 Weakness or fatigue
🤢 Nausea or vomiting
😵 Dizziness or fainting
🧊 Cool, pale, clammy skin
💓 Rapid pulse

If you notice these symptoms:
✅ Move to a cool or shaded area.
✅ Drink water and replenish electrolytes.
✅ Loosen clothing and cool your body with cold towels or a fan.
✅ Rest until you feel better.

🚨 Heat Stroke (Medical Emergency)

Heat stroke occurs when your body can no longer regulate its temperature.

Watch for:
🌡️ Body temperature above 104°F (40°C)
🧠 Confusion, disorientation, or slurred speech
🥵 Hot, red skin (with little or no sweating)
❌ Loss of consciousness or seizures

Call 911 immediately. While waiting for emergency responders, move the person to a cool place and begin cooling them with ice packs, cold towels, or cool water. Do not give fluids if they are confused, unconscious, or unable to swallow safely.

🌞 Protect Yourself This Week

✔️ Drink water consistently throughout the day—not just when you’re thirsty.
✔️ Replace electrolytes after heavy sweating or prolonged time outdoors.
✔️ Wear light-colored, breathable clothing.
✔️ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
✔️ Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (typically 10 a.m.–4 p.m.).
✔️ Check on children, older adults, outdoor workers, and pets—they’re especially vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Heat illness can happen quickly, but it’s also highly preventable with proper hydration and preparation.

💙 Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.

🧠 Could dehydration be the hidden cause of your brain fog?

Many people blame stress, lack of sleep, or too much screen time for feeling mentally sluggish—but dehydration is often overlooked.

Your brain is approximately 75% water, and it depends on proper hydration and electrolyte balance to function efficiently. Even mild dehydration (losing just 1–2% of your body water) has been shown to affect mental performance.

When your body doesn’t have enough fluids:

💧 Blood volume decreases, delivering less oxygen and fewer nutrients to the brain.

⚡ Electrical signals between brain cells become less efficient because electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium help power nerve communication.

🧠 Cognitive function can decline, making it harder to:
• Concentrate
• Remember information
• Stay alert
• Make decisions
• Process information quickly

Common signs that dehydration may be affecting your brain include:
✔️ Brain fog
✔️ Headaches
✔️ Mental fatigue
✔️ Difficulty focusing
✔️ Forgetfulness
✔️ Feeling unusually tired

The good news? In many cases, these symptoms can improve by restoring your body’s fluid and electrolyte balance.

Simple ways to support better brain function:

💦 Drink water consistently throughout the day—not just when you’re thirsty.
🥒 Eat water-rich fruits and vegetables.
🧂 Replace electrolytes after sweating, exercise, or long days in the heat.
☀️ Increase your fluid intake during hot weather, illness, or periods of increased activity.

Hydration isn’t just about quenching thirst—it’s about giving every cell in your body, especially your brain, what it needs to perform at its best.

💧 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET DEHYDRATED?

Dehydration is more than just feeling thirsty. When your body loses more fluids than it takes in, it can affect your energy, focus, muscles, digestion, heart, and overall performance.

Even mild dehydration can make a difference.

⚠️ Common warning signs include:
💧 Thirst
👄 Dry mouth
🟡 Dark yellow urine
🔋 Fatigue
🤕 Headaches
💪 Muscle cramps
😵 Dizziness
🧠 Poor focus

Your body also loses important electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium—especially through sweating, illness, exercise, and heat.

The good news? You can support your body by staying ahead of dehydration:

✅ Drink water regularly
✅ Replenish electrolytes when needed
✅ Eat hydrating fruits and vegetables
✅ Rest and recover
✅ Pay attention to your body’s warning signs

Don’t wait until you feel completely drained to rehydrate. 💧

🥤💧 Think that sugary drink is helping you hydrate? Think again.

When you’re thirsty, it’s easy to reach for a soda, sweet tea, sports drink, or fruit punch—but many sugary drinks can actually work against your hydration goals.

Here’s why:
🍬 High amounts of sugar cause blood sugar to spike.
💧 Your kidneys work harder to remove the excess sugar.
🚰 As they do, your body loses more water and essential electrolytes.
⚡ The result? Fatigue, headaches, muscle cramps, brain fog, and feeling even thirstier than before.

The truth is, hydration isn’t just about drinking fluids—it’s about replacing what your body actually needs.

This summer, make hydration a priority:
✅ Choose water first.
✅ Replace electrolytes after sweating or exercising.
✅ Watch your added sugar intake.
✅ Read nutrition labels before grabbing a drink.

Small choices every day can make a big difference in how you feel.

🎆🇺🇸 Celebrate the 4th of July—Don’t Let Dehydration Steal the Show! 🍔🌭🍺

Fireworks. Family. Friends. BBQs. Cold drinks.

The 4th of July is one of the best days of the year—but if you’re celebrating with alcohol, remember that alcohol doesn’t just leave you with a hangover… it also dehydrates your body.

🍺 Alcohol suppresses the hormone that helps your body retain water, causing you to:
💧 Lose more fluids
⚡ Deplete important electrolytes
🧠 Feel fatigued, foggy, and dehydrated
💪 Increase your risk of muscle cramps and headaches
❤️ Put extra strain on your body in the summer heat

☀️ Add high temperatures and time outdoors, and your risk of dehydration goes up even more.

Before you raise your next glass, remember these simple tips:

✅ Drink a glass of water between alcoholic drinks.
✅ Replenish electrolytes throughout the day.
✅ Eat before and while drinking.
✅ Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to hydrate.
✅ Know your limits and never drink and drive.

Hydration isn’t about avoiding the fun—it’s about helping your body recover so you can enjoy every moment of the holiday.

From all of us at Saluna, have a safe, fun, and hydrated this Independence Day! 🇺🇸💙❤️

💧⚡️ Tiny minerals. Powerful impact. ⚡️💧

Electrolytes do so much more than help athletes—they keep your entire body running smoothly every single day.

🩷 They help you:
💧 Stay hydrated by balancing fluids
🧠 Support brain and nerve function
💪 Keep muscles moving and prevent cramps
❤️ Maintain a steady heartbeat
⚖️ Support your body’s natural balance and recovery

When you sweat, exercise, travel, get sick, or simply have a busy day, you lose electrolytes. Replacing them is key to feeling energized, focused, and hydrated.

At Saluna, we believe hydration isn’t just about drinking more water—it’s about restoring the minerals your body needs to thrive. 🌊✨
