If I am being honest, this may be exactly what needs to happen to have a revival of clinical massage therapy. The question is this: are the roots strong enough to stalk out and flower again?

I was a project manager for an independent massage therapy school, desperate to get accreditation studies done ahead of the large vocational schools that essentially wiped them out. The vocational schools, having other programs of study in place wirh full demographic data already procured, had about an 18 month lead on independent schools.

In Georgia, the largest independent school closed their doors two years ago.

Maybe this is what we need? For large box vocational schools to lose their funding…so that students who choose massage are doing so because of passion and clinical aptitude.

Or will physical therapy be the preferred career path? Not if we can get educational costs back to a range that is personally affordable for students without loans.

Let’s talk….
