click here to read Nathans story.http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/nathanmoran/mystory Nathan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2009, it is a rare soft muscle solid tumor (a childhood cancer) His tumor originated in his spine and traveled down his spinal nerves and wrapped back into the front of his pelvis. He has endured 43 weeks of chemotherapy, 28 days radiation and spinal resection to rem

ove tumor from his spine. He has been left permanently disabled from his tumor with paralyzed feet and ankles. His chemotherapy has caused him to have delayed speech. The tumor also caused him to have a sphincter deficiency and he will have to have a future surgery when he is three years old to put a band around his bladder. We appreciate all prayers and support through this journey.

Nathan was very sick the last few days. We had an ER visit with iv antibiotics and blood cultures. This morning they called and asked to have him come to be admitted for IV antibiotics as his blood cultures came back positive for gram negative rods. (Sepsis)

Nathan is doing good. Lot's if upcoming appointments. VCU for urologist. UVA for Oncology, his neurosurgeon and orthopedic surgeon. We also have to talk to the endocrinologist about growth hormones. Nathan is 16 years old and only 5'4" his doctors feel this is from radiation received on his spine years ago and the surgeries on his spine. Nathan will have to decide if being taller will harm or benefit him. Being taller will actually cause it to be even harder for him to walk. He is currently having a lot of issues with distance and by distance, I mean walking maybe 100-200ft. and needing to sit down. We have a tall stool he uses to sit on in the kitchen to prepare food etc fir himself at our counters. He is always thinking of ways the world could improve for people who are disabled. I would love to see his ideas come to fruition one day. He is hoping to get his learner's permit and drive one day. College is also on his list of things to do. He is very creative and loves coding and his computer.
Just wanted to give a little update and thank you all for continuing to pray and support Nathan.
