Grief is one of life’s most profound teachers. It reshapes the heart, challenges the spirit, and often leaves a person searching for peace in the midst of pain. Pure Balance Reiki was born from that very place, a journey through loss, love, and healing.

The Beginning of a Healing Journey
In 2020, life changed forever with the sudden passing of a father. No one prepares for the loss of a parent, especially when it comes without warning. The world felt heavy, and the heart carried a weight that words couldn’t ease. In the search for comfort and understanding, Reiki became a light in the darkness, a gentle, restorative energy that helped reconnect to peace, presence, and purpose.

Finding Balance Amid Loss
Reiki offered more than relaxation; it became a sacred space to release pain, honor memories, and rebuild emotional strength. Through each session, the energy of grief began to shift, transforming from deep sorrow into gratitude for the love that remains. The journey didn’t end with one loss. In 2022, another chapter unfolded when a mother’s battle with op**te addiction reached a breaking point. Though it felt like another loss, it became a turning point. Recovery brought her back, not only to life but to purpose. Today, she stands as a Peer Support Counselor, guiding others through their own healing journeys.
This story is one of transformation, from grief to growth, from pain to peace. Reiki played a vital role in that transformation, offering balance when everything felt broken.

What is your really important?

It has been such a beneficial move for me to assess my life and only focus on what is important. For me the important things are my health, well-being and spirituality, my wife, my animal companions, the rest of my (extended) family, Reiki and being of service to others. Now I know that if I am doing something that isn’t supporting these things or, worse, is taking away from them, then I am not on the right path.
Taking some time to make your own Life Manifesto (yes, I have actually done this) or Mission Statement, if you prefer, can really help you get clear on what is important to you.
So many things are constantly vying for our attention and I am not sure that all of them are worth it. When you’re focused on too many different things, none of them get the kind of attention that they deserve from you.
Never forget that you are the author of your own life. You can be and do and have anything. So make sure that you exercise your right to choose the things that matter most to YOU. There’s no right or wrong here, just follow your heart and wonderful blessings will manifest before your eyes!

How to Use Reiki to Release What You Are Ready to Let Go Of

Reiki is a beautiful way to soften what feels heavy within us.
It does not force us to release before we are ready. Reiki simply meets us with compassion, helping us create space around what we have been carrying so healing can begin.

Place your hands over your heart or anywhere on your body that feels comforting. Take a few slow breaths and invite Reiki to flow. You might say:
“Reiki, please help me release what no longer serves my highest good. Help me let go with love, compassion, and divine support.”

Then choose one thing you are ready to place into Reiki’s light. Maybe it is fear. Maybe it is old guilt. Maybe it is the need to control. Maybe it is the belief that you have to carry everything alone.

As Reiki flows, imagine this heavy energy softening. You do not have to know where it came from or how to fix it. Just allow Reiki to surround it with light.
