Recovery doesn’t happen alone. It happens through connection, support, second chances, and a community that chooses to show up. πŸ’™

At The Shoulder of the Central Gulf Coast, we have the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families as they rebuild their lives and discover that a brighter future really is possible.

But we need our community in this with us.

Whether you have been personally impacted by addiction, love someone in recovery, work in the recovery field, or simply believe people deserve another chance, you have a place in this mission.

πŸ’› Share this post.
πŸ’™ Invite someone to follow our page.
πŸ’› Volunteer, partner with us, donate, or simply help us spread hope.

Tell us in the comments: What does recovery mean to you?

Sometimes one comment, one share, or one conversation can reach someone who needs hope today.

Hope. Healing. Recovery. It happens here.

THE SHOULDER: RECOVERY. HOPE. COMMUNITY. πŸ’œ

The Shoulder was proud to be out in our community in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, a day to remember the lives lost to overdose, support the families and friends who carry their memory, and remind our community that recovery is possible.

For more than four decades, The Shoulder has been helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and a new way of life through recovery. But our work doesn’t stop at the doors of our treatment programs.

We believe recovery belongs in the community.

That means showing up. Having conversations. Building partnerships. Educating others. Breaking stigma. Connecting people with resources. And making sure the person who is still struggling knows there is somewhere to turn.

Every brochure handed out, every conversation started, and every relationship built is another opportunity to connect someone to hope.

And seeing our community illuminated in purple was a beautiful reminder of why this work matters. πŸ’œ

To those we have lost to overdose: we remember you.
To the families who continue to carry that loss: we stand with you.
To those still struggling: there is hope.
And to everyone walking the road of recovery: keep going.

The Shoulder will continue showing up, speaking up, and working alongside our community because recovery doesn’t happen alone.
