Maintenance: You Reached Your Goal—Now What?

You’ve been doing your cardio, strength training, and functional training two to three times a week. You’ve been eating relatively healthfully, drinking your water, and staying consistent.

You reached your goal weight—now it’s time to maintain it.

How? By continuing the habits that helped you get there.

If you want to increase skeletal muscle mass, add thoughtful progressions to your strength training. If you want to improve endurance, mobility, or balance, create new goals in those areas.

Reaching your goal does not mean you stop moving or return to old eating habits. Maintenance is not the end of the journey—it is the next phase.

Continue on the same path. Keep moving forward. Create new goals, stay consistent, and set yourself up for long-term success.

You didn’t work this hard just to reach your goal. You worked this hard to build a lifestyle you can maintain.

If you move your body for 30 minutes a day—above and beyond your normal daily activities—and remain consistent, you may begin to notice changes in how your body feels and functions within 4–6 weeks.

From there, you can gradually progress your workouts by increasing the time, intensity, or resistance.

If you’re staying consistent but not noticing changes, consider speaking with your primary care provider. They can help identify what your body needs and discuss whether additional weight-loss support may be appropriate.

Don’t fight against yourself—mentally or physically—for too long.

You deserve support, not defeat.
There is no shame in asking for help.

MOTIVATION MONDAY

Stop waiting to feel motivated before you begin.

You won’t wake up every day feeling energized, focused, or ready—and that doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Sometimes motivation comes after you take action.

Walk for 10 minutes.
Prepare one healthy meal.
Complete one exercise.
Make one choice that supports the person you’re becoming.

Meet yourself where you are and do what you can today. Sustainable progress isn’t built only on the days you feel inspired. It’s built through choices you can realistically repeat.

Start small. Let action create momentum.

What is one small step you can take today—before motivation shows up?
