This past Sunday, the first-ever Indiana State Walk took place at West Park in Carmel, IN, hosted by Erin McCammack!

From Erin: "Our first Indiana Walk for appendix cancer took place on Sunday and was a great success. We are grateful to everyone who participated: volunteers, walkers, donors and patients. It’s a comfort to see so many people teaming up in support of research for this rare disease.

Special thanks to Cindy Sauers Kaser for generously providing catered lunch."

A special shoutout to Christine who traveled all the way from Atlanta, Georgia for this event, and in her words, "It was worth everything."

πŸŽ—οΈ June is National Cancer Survivors Month - a time to honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those who have faced cancer, while remembering those who are no longer here.

Appendix cancer is rare but on the rise, affecting 2 to 9 people per million each year in the U.S. Every survivor’s path is unique, marked by challenges, determination, and hope.

This month, we celebrate our appendix cancer survivors πŸ’›

A message from Bob Blair, co-host of the North Carolina State Walk:

"Saturday's North Carolina Appendix Cancer Walk was a huge success! I can't thank our fundraising team and all the walk participants enough for their hard work and support. We had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new friends, and come together for an important cause.

A special thank you to Dr. Perry Shen and Dr. Ed Levine of Atrium Health Levine Cancer, as well as Town of Lewisville Mayor Billy Carter, for joining us and helping make the day so meaningful.

Tanya Stoecker Heller and I are already planning next year's event!"

Thank you to Bob, Tanya, and everyone who participated in the North Carolina State Walk. Together, we're raising awareness, funding research, and building a stronger community for patients and families affected by appendix cancer. We couldn't do this without you!

Stay tuned for more photos from other walks!
