Five signs a shampoo bar isn't working for you

Five signs: a waxy coating that persists past three weeks, hair that tangles more than it used to, dullness, colour fading faster, or a newly itchy scalp. Most of these are fixable and don't mean bars aren't for you — they usually mean hard water, a missing acidic rinse, or the wrong type of bar. ...

How often should you wash with a shampoo bar?

The same frequency you washed before. Switching to a bar doesn't change how often your hair needs cleaning — that's set by your scalp, your hair type and your life, not by the format of the shampoo. Most people land on two to three times a week, and there's no benefit to washing less than your sca...

Can You Use A Shampoo Bar With Liquid Conditioner?

Yes. There's no chemistry reason to match formats, and using a shampoo bar with your usual liquid conditioner is what most people do. How long does a shampoo bar last vs a bottle?

A shampoo bar lasts 80 to 100 washes — around two to three months for one person washing three times a week. That's roughly the equivalent of two to three 12oz bottles of liquid shampoo. The single biggest variable isn't your hair, it's storage: a bar left sitting in water dissolves in a fraction ...

Candles for Relaxation: Which Scents Actually Calm Your Nervous System

Scent reaches the emotional brain faster than any other sense — it's the only one that skips the thalamus and goes straight to the amygdala. But a candle's real effect on stress comes from the ritual it marks and the association it builds, not from an aromatherapy dose. No candle delivers one, wha...

Probiotics for Rosacea: What the Research Actually Shows

There's reasonable evidence that the skin and gut microbiome are involved in rosacea, and early research on topical probiotics is promising — but probiotics are not a treatment for rosacea and won't cure it. What they can do is support the skin barrier without irritating it, which matters, because...
