Still leaking after baby? 💕 You are NOT alone, and you don’t have to just accept it as part of motherhood.

Pelvic floor therapy looks beyond just doing Kegels. A thorough assessment can look at your pelvic alignment, rib position, breathing, core control, and the specific activities that trigger your leaking. Understanding what your body is doing during those movements can help your therapist create a plan that actually addresses the root of the problem.

If you’re postpartum and still experiencing leaking, pelvic floor physical therapy may be worth exploring. Rooted Pelvic Physio Therapy focuses on helping women better understand and reconnect with their bodies through individualized pelvic floor care. 🌸

You deserve support beyond “just do your Kegels.” 💗

✨ Preparing your body for birth is about more than just packing a hospital bag. Learning to relax your pelvic floor, practicing intentional breathing, and incorporating gentle movement can help your body work with labor instead of against it. Every small step you take during pregnancy is an investment in a more confident birth experience. 🤍

If you’re in your third trimester, talk with your provider about birth preparation techniques like pelvic floor relaxation, perineal massage, and mobility exercises. Remember, every pregnancy is unique, so choose what feels right for you with guidance from your healthcare team. 🌸

Your rib cage goes through incredible changes during pregnancy to make room for your growing baby. 🤰💛 As your uterus expands, your ribs naturally widen, your posture shifts, and your diaphragm has less space to move. Add in those little kicks under your ribs 👣 and it’s easy to see why you may experience aching, tightness, or sharp discomfort, especially during the second and third trimesters.

The good news is that rib pain is common, and there are ways to find relief. 🌿 Gentle stretching, diaphragmatic breathing, supportive sleep positions 🛏️, proper posture, and pelvic floor physical therapy can all help reduce pressure and improve comfort. Every pregnancy is different, so listen to your body, give yourself grace, and don’t hesitate to seek support if the pain becomes severe or is accompanied by other concerning symptoms. 🤍✨

✨ Pregnancy is beautiful, but SI joint pain can make even simple movements feel uncomfortable. 🤰💛

The good news is that small adjustments can make a big difference. 💕 Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees 🛏️ and another supporting your belly to help keep your hips aligned. A pregnancy support belt, wedge pillow, or gentle stability exercises recommended by your provider can also help reduce strain on your SI joint and improve comfort. 🌿

You do not have to push through the pain. There are safe ways to find relief and support your body throughout your pregnancy. 🤍

First gym visit since welcoming baby girl. 💕

Postpartum recovery isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about rebuilding strength one small step at a time.

We’re thinking about creating a week by week postpartum exercise series with quick, realistic movements you can do while your baby is in the bassinet or safely snuggled in a carrier. Even 15 minutes a day can add up to meaningful improvements in your physical recovery, core strength, and mental well being, mama.

Because motherhood is demanding, but taking care of yourself matters too. 🤍

Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise is not always a sign of a weak pelvic floor. In many cases, the muscles may actually be too tight and unable to coordinate properly under pressure.

Your pelvic floor needs more than strength. It needs flexibility, coordination, and the ability to respond to everyday movements. Every body is different, which is why a pelvic floor evaluation is so important.

Pelvic physical therapy can help identify the root cause of your symptoms and create a treatment plan that gets you back to living confidently without guesswork.

P***c bone pain during pregnancy is common, but it is not something you have to simply push through.

As your baby grows, the added weight and pregnancy hormones increase movement in the pelvic joints. When your glutes and core are not working together to provide enough stability, the p***c symphysis, the joint at the front of your pelvis, can become irritated and painful.

Here are a few simple ways to reduce discomfort:
🤍 Place a pillow between your knees when rolling in bed.
🤍 Keep your legs together when getting in and out of the car.
🤍 Sit with your hips and knees at a 90 degree angle to help keep your pelvis aligned.

If p***c bone pain is making it difficult to walk, roll over in bed, or complete everyday activities, pelvic floor physical therapy can help improve stability, reduce pain, and keep you moving comfortably throughout your pregnancy.

✨ Why do your glutes seem to “stop working” during pregnancy? ✨

As your belly grows, your center of gravity shifts forward and your posture naturally changes. Many pregnant women develop tighter hip flexors and spend more time relying on their lower back and thighs for movement. At the same time, hormonal changes increase joint mobility and can alter how muscles activate.

When hip flexors become tight, they can inhibit the glute muscles, making it harder for them to fire efficiently. This can lead to increased strain on the low back, hips, pelvis, and knees, contributing to common pregnancy aches and pains.

The good news? Your glutes haven’t disappeared or become weak overnight. They often just need the right exercises and movement strategies to help them activate effectively again.

A pelvic floor physical therapist can help you maintain strength, improve stability, reduce discomfort, and support your body throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery. 🤍

When Should You See a Pelvic Floor PT After a C-Section?

A C-section is a major abdominal surgery, and recovery involves more than just healing the incision. If you’re experiencing tightness, numbness, a lower belly “shelf,” persistent back, hip, or pelvic pain, or bladder leakage, your body may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy.

Pelvic floor PT can help improve scar mobility, core strength, posture, pelvic floor function, and overall comfort during recovery. Whether you’re a few weeks postpartum or years past your C-section, it’s never too late to address symptoms that may be impacting your daily life.

✨ Signs it’s time to schedule an evaluation:
✔️ Tight, numb, or uncomfortable scar tissue
✔️ Lower abdominal “pooch” or shelf near your incision
✔️ Ongoing back, hip, or pelvic pain
✔️ Urinary leakage or feelings of weakness
✔️ Difficulty returning to exercise or daily activities

Your recovery matters. You don’t have to live with discomfort just because you’ve had a baby. 💜
