A special visit during National Health Center Week!
Last week, Uptown Community Health Center was honored to welcome Victoria Seaman, Regional Director of the Denver Region with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to our health center!
During her visit, Director Seaman learned more about Uptown, our role as a Federally Qualified Health Center in Denver, and how our team works every day to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality care to our community.
We’re proud to share our story, celebrate the impact of community health centers, and showcase the dedicated people who make our mission possible. 🌱

🎪 Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us last Friday! 🎉
What a wonderful afternoon it was at Uptown Community Health Center’s Community Fun Day! As part of National Health Center Week 2026, we were so grateful to bring together our amazing community, partners, patients, associates, and families for an afternoon of fun, connection, and celebration. 🥳
From carnival games and bounce houses to cotton candy, community resources, and plenty of smiles, it was a day that truly reminded us of the power of community.
We were also honored to welcome Gabe Martinez from Senator Michael Bennet’s team for a special visit. Thank you for taking the time to celebrate with us and learn more about the work Uptown Community Health Center is doing to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality care to our community.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and continues to support the Community Health Center mission. We couldn’t do what we do without you! 💙

National Health Center Week: Gratitude and Future Vision

We close this week with a focus on gratitude for all who contribute to the Community Health Center mission and a vision for the future. Nationally, we aim to serve 1 in 3 Americans, ensuring health for all. Uptown employs 131 associates and providers. Each one is critical to ensuring that our community receives excellent, affordable care now and for generations to come.
Here are a few ways that Uptown is preparing to grow and serve more patients in the future:

🎗️Establish a Foundation to receive charitable gifts in support of Uptown's mission
🏠Partner with Colorado Health Foundation to co-locate primary care services within a new affordable housing development
🏃🏽‍♂️Expand Sports Medicine services for patients
🦶🏼Expand Podiatry care for patients
🦷Expand Dental care for patients

Sylvia’s Closet is a clothing resource available to UCHC patients, associates, and anyone in our community who may be in need of clothing items.

On January 12, 2022, three clinics—Bruner Family Medicine, Caritas Internal Medicine, and Seton Women’s Center—came together to form Uptown Community Health Center. These clinics were once part of Saint Joseph Hospital, Colorado’s oldest teaching hospital, and were home base sites for its Graduate Medical Education programs.

Uptown became a stand-alone nonprofit organization with the intention to serve our patients as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike. This change allowed Uptown to focus on our mission: providing high-quality care to everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Uptown Midwifery Center was added as a fourth clinic in 2026.
Uptown maintains a close relationship with Saint Joseph Hospital, andthe resident providers continue to be trained under the guidance of its physicians. In doing so, we carry on the mission and values of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, ensuring that our community receives excellent, affordable care—now and for generations to come.
We are grateful for the longstanding historical foundation of our clinics which we continue building upon. Whether you are a patient, an employee, a provider, or a community supporter, your contribution to Uptown Community Health Center over the years is appreciated, and we look forward to continuing our relationships with you into the future.
