For Women's History Month, I'm reflecting on how our heroes sustained themselves during hard times. I'll be highlighting women who carried immense responsibility while navigating systemic oppression and the practices that kept them steady.
Rosa Parks sparked the resistance of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and changed the course of the Civil Rights Movement. That moment did not happen in isolation. She spent years organizing, thinking deeply about injustice, and preparing herself spiritually and mentally for what was to come.
As a way to heal, Rosa practiced yoga for about 30 years. She understood that to keep fighting, we first have to take care of ourselves.
