Spin a Yarn, Weave a Life Spin a Yarn, Weave a Life is an experiential and visual manifestation of the kinship between stories, fabric, and the human spirit.

Spin a Yarn, Weave a Life started as a collaboration between artists Cheyenne McCarter and Catherine Tutter as a way to integrate their work with the elderly. Catherine's knowledge about an ancient Japanese fiber art process was joined with Cheyenne's experience as a professional geriatric social worker. Their partnership resulted in a unique project that transformed the life stories of five elder

s into fabric. The project is currently entering an outreach and dissemination phase in order that the process and instructional methods can be shared with a matrix of groups and individuals, including artists, caregivers, healthcare professionals, survivors of trauma and life-threatening illness, and elders.
