Summer Sun Safety Month is here! August means more time outdoors! ☀️ But while soaking up the vitamin D is great, your Arbor Place Family Medicine team wants to remind you that protecting your skin is vital for your long-term health.
🧴 Slather on SPF: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Apply 15 minutes before heading out and reapply every two hours.
🧢 Cover Up: Wear a wide-brimmed hat, UV-blocking sunglasses, and lightweight, long-sleeved clothing.
⏱️ Seek Shade: Try to avoid direct sunlight during peak UV hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
🔍 Check Your Skin: Regularly inspect for new, dark, or changing spots, and don't forget to mention any suspicious moles to your doctor during your annual physical exam.
