So, a couple weeks I told you I was going to start my hormone replacement therapy journey and was going to share it with you— the good, and even the bad and the ugly if there was any. I got a lot of support in the comments and even got private messages sharing their journey. And I truly appreciate it all because I think the more we share with each other the better we can figure out how to monitor and adjust and make our own personal hormone replacement therapy journey work for ourselves.
I say all the time that there is no one size fits all healthy habit journey because we are all unique individuals. So, our journeys are going to be different and this especially is going to be true for your hormone replacement therapy if that is a route you decide to go.
So for my personal journey, I started on progesterone a couple weeks ago and do feel like my sleep has gotten better. This doesn’t mean I still don’t have night here or there where I wake up, but overall, I feel more rested in the morning and the metrics that my watch track seem to be more consistently better as well. Those metrics had seem to be all over the place and out of whack for a while.
This week, I got some testosterone pellets to help with my testosterone levels—which was the lowest level my provider had seen on anyone my age. 🙃 I decided on pellets because I felt they were the best option for me and my lifestyle. And this is where I really want to thank those of you that reached out to give me your personal experience with pellets because it seems people either love them or hate them. I shared some of the concerns with my provider, and we decided to start on a slightly lower dosage because once the pellets are in, they’re in.
I am about 48 hours after insertion, and so far so good. I’m hoping to continue to have good news, but will share if otherwise. So if you are considering hormone replacement therapy, I hope that you find a good provider that you can talk to and figure out what is going to work personally for you.
