For some the summit is reaching a peak and achieving a lofty goal and for others it’s earning a spot competing at the top level in their sport.

An athletes competitive season is like climbing a mountain with a summit you are striving to reach. For some that peak is Nationals or State and for others it’s Summit or Worlds. To reach that pinnacle you must keep your head up, your heart strong, your mind clear and trust that you can work through the challenges you are face with.

Comparison robs us of the present. It limits us from being able to see the here & now. Instead our focus is upon what we don’t have or what we are perceived to be lacking.

Gratitude ceases to exist in the face of comparison. It doesn’t allow awareness of what we have to offer. It doesn’t allow us to appreciate who we are.

Comparison prevents authenticity. We are not able to just be ourselves when overwhelmed with thoughts of trying to be like someone else.

🌟Client Spotlight🌟

This summer has been about building resiliency for this girl. She’s been faced with some mentally challenging days, has adjusted to multiple coaches throughout the summer, and pushed hard to stay consistent in her skills… and she’s done it all with a smile. Her love for the sport, her persistent spirit and her can do attitude are what has helped her to stay on top of the obstacles that have come her way. Keep your head high Miss, you have so much to continue to offer this sport you love so dearly!

She also couldn’t have done it without the AMAZING support she has from her family…Especially her Mom 💛 It’s just a little easier to Believe in yourself when you have those who love you, supporting you every step of the way!

What a great night working with this high level group of young athletes! Dynasty Athletics and their Lady Icons invited Handstand Sports Med and I to teach a Sports Wellness Workshop as they kickoff their summer training.

These ladies learned techniques for injury prevention, recovery, strength & conditioning, mental toughness, mind-body connection, and general wellness.

This group has a bright future ahead of them as they take the knowledge they gained and become even stronger as a team and individual athletes! 🌟

✨Monday Mindset✨

The start is often what stops most people. Taking the first step can be the hardest part...but making the choice to trust the process makes all the difference.

There is never an ideal time to start. The "perfect" time is right here where you are today. No matter where you’re currently at, you have the power to choose to take the first steps toward reaching your goals.

Use the resources available to you. You will always be equipped with a toolbox. This toolbox is made up of your own resources such as past experiences, knowledge, training, skills and your ability to choose your mindset.

Doing your best with what you currently have will help you work through adversity. Bumps in the road are inevitable in the process of reaching your goals. When challenging times arise do what you can and focus on what’s in your control. An open mindset and a positive attitude are always tools you can rely on to control what you are able and let the rest go.

Having a growth mindset will put you in a position to make progress towards reaching your goals. You’ll recognize that things may take time, persistence, hard work, and dedication. But you also know they are achievable if you maintain this mindset of growth and believe you can do whatever it is you put your mind to!

✨Monday Mindset✨

Last week we focused on shifting perspective and adopting a growth mindset. This week we’ll put it into practice.

Good things take time, patience, persistence and hard work. Comparatively seeds take time to grow, blossom and produce fruit. The fruit is the outcome we desire but the process of production is just as important. Without the growth period there would be no fruit to enjoy. 🍋

Working through rough patches and building mental toughness are similar processes. If you want to be more confident it doesn’t just happen. You have to make it happen...
1. Be aware of what you want
2. Make a plan of how you will get it
3. Put the plan into action
4. Work hard and over time you’ll grow stronger and more sure of yourself
5. Enjoy the fruits of your labor

Building good things takes care and time and your mental strength training is no exception. Just as you have to wait for fruit to grow you must be patient in working through a rough patch. The more attentive you are to building your best you, the more fruits you will have to enjoy when they are ready. Growth is about keeping an open, determined and aware mind. With the right mindset you can produce anything you wish!
