Postpartum depression/anxiety is a common condition following birth and if untreated can span over the initial 5 years of life.

During postpartum we detach, reregulate, recuperate, regenerate. For some that’s very simple, for others who may have a family history of PPD/PPA it can be a difficult and life changing time.

Proper nutrition, reminders to rest without guilt, light functional exercise and rearranging space can all soothe some of the complicated symptoms of these conditions.

I will not be accepting births until Spring 2026—in the mean time— please inquire for yourself or a partner, or a new mom you know about postpartum care services.

This post is geared toward ANYONE wanting to learn more about the reality of childbirth.

I am starting with natural births, I consider all birthing methods and options—this is just the initial discussion topic. Next up: Cesareans.

Welcome back to The Healing Cipher!

Meet Nita. My second hybrid doula client.

Nita lives in Kentucky, but who is that stopping?!

Nita is what I would like to describe as a painfully perfect client 😂 you know the kind that is more on top of it than you? That’s herrrr.

Nita is an expecting marvelous mama carrying a graceful, peaceful, and healthy pregnancy beyond 30 y/o.
There are a few hiccups along the way but she has a BOMB team and a beautifully aware midwife + me the BEST doula.

Nita is active in the gym, she drinks water regularly and extra if she decides to have a treat (juice or dye free soda).

One of my favorite things about this client journey is Anita’s updates. She updates me like her and baby’s life depend on it-and for that I’m alright!

The key things I ask for updates on with my clients: water intake + blood pressure.

DO NOT UPDATE ME ON ANYTHING BEFORE YOU SEND ME THE NUMBERS 🤣 I need to SEE what your body is saying to understand what you may not be saying.

Nita is always updating BP, always giving hints and tidbits on the things she decides to do while pregnant like PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY (during antepartum, IKR?!!) and continuing her exercise regimen.

Congratulations Nita! Let’s continue our healthy journey and thank you for allowing me to share your progress. Road to baby….hereeeee we go

The Healing Cipher is a labor of love, wellness and healthcare alternative service provider company, specializing in s*xual health, education, and wellness. We offer s*xual education, intimacy coaching, and doula support services in the state of Georgia.

Keonia Wiggins, founder of this collective is a board certified occupational therapist nearing completion of AOTA approved CEU courses concerning s*xual intimacy, performance, and dysfunction.

My goal as an allied health provider is to bring forward healthier conversations surrounding s*x, intimacy, birth, parenthood, and education about s*x as an occupation and activity of daily living. I plan to address and support the following s*xual health care disparities:

• Birth Complications
• S*xuality/ S*xual Preference
• Adult S*xual Dysfunction
• S*xual Trauma
• Insecurities with s*xual performance
• S*x with individuals with common disabilities
• S*x with individuals with exceptionalities

In effort to be more active on this journey of incorporating my business and marrying each of my professions I felt it a great time to write a little blurb about what I am and what I do.

I am currently completing continuing education on the subject of s*xual intimacy and s*xual health as a master’s level occupational therapist.

In the world of OT, there are many traditional and non-traditional roles I can (and have) taken on to further my knowledge and marry a lot of my passions beneath the umbrella my industry offers.

As a board certified OT, I have ability (and I’m credentialed nationally) to apply evidence-based frameworks and practices in order to inform individuals and transform lives from an informed healthcare service provider perspective.

My work as a community birth doula (beginning in 2017) gave me space to explore an Activity of Daily living that once had very little exposure inside of my field: s*x work, s*xual health, and s*xual dysfunction.

In current spirit I merge my doula work with my profession to create space for these health conversations as well as guidance for underserved populations such as teens, LGBTQ, and elderly.
