For over 70 years, EP!C has refused to accept a diagnosis as an identity. We are a leader in providing education, employment, and residential opportunities to people with disabilities, and we are passionate about discovering and developing potential. EP!C is a community of families, staff, volunteers, and community members working together to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families tailored to each individual’s abilities and needs. Together we can elevate the voices, strengths, and positive contributions of persons with disabilities.

The Festival of Lights is almost here!

Join us for the 2026 Utsav Diwali Gala: Bollyverse, Diwali Through the Ages, a vibrant celebration of culture, community, music, and movement.
This year’s performance will take audiences on a journey through the eras of Bollywood, brought to life through the choreography and creativity of PJ Dance Academy, in partnership with the Indo-American Society of Peoria and EP!C.
Come experience an evening filled with dazzling performances, colorful costumes, meaningful tradition, and a gala dinner — all while supporting EP!C and the people we serve.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is listen.

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health matters and that every person's experiences deserve to be heard, understood, and respected.

This year's theme, "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change," reminds us that people with firsthand experience should have a voice in shaping the support, services, and decisions that affect their lives.

At EP!C, we believe in empowering people to express their needs, make their own choices, and have a meaningful voice in their lives.

Whether it's checking in with someone, making space for an honest conversation, or listening without judgment, we all have a part to play in creating a more understanding and supportive community.

Let's do more than listen. Let's make sure every voice has the opportunity to create change.

We are sad to share the passing of former staff member and volunteer Sandi Purtscher.

Sandi retired from PARC/EP!C in 2013 after 23.5 years of service. During her time here, she wore many hats, including 1 on 1 support for individuals, a communications instructor including ASL, and support in our PARC Assistive Technology Services program.

After retirement, Sandi still spent much of her time dedicated to people supported by EP!C whether teaching ASL classes for staff or attending support meetings for those who needed help translating to ensure their voices were heard and needs were met.

The community lost a committed advocate and a true friend who will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with Jim and their girls during this time.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and throughout the month, we’re highlighting some of the incredible employers who partner with EP!C to create meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.

Today, we’re celebrating Caterpillar, a valued partner of EP!C since 1950.

Today, EP!C joins the global community in recognizing World Cerebral Palsy Day!

Every person living with cerebral palsy has their own story, strengths, goals, and aspirations. There is no one-size-fits-all experience, and that's why listening to individual voices and creating opportunities for everyone matters.

At EP!C, we believe inclusion means more than being invited to participate. It means having the opportunity to make choices, pursue goals, build connections, and be an active part of our community.

This World Cerebral Palsy Day, let's celebrate individuality, challenge barriers, and continue creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Feel Good Friday is giving us chills this week.

We’re sharing the trailer for Being Heumann, the upcoming film inspired by the life and work of disability rights activist Judy Heumann. The story follows Heumann and a group of young disabled activists as they fight discrimination and push for change during the historic 1977 Section 504 sit-in.

At EP!C, we believe in creating communities where people are heard, included, and empowered to advocate for the lives they want to lead. Stories like this are an important reminder of how much progress can happen when people come together and refuse to accept barriers as the norm.
