Please join us in welcoming our newest provider, Angela Azzarito, APRN, FNP-BC, to the Advanced Wound Specialists team!

Angela brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, she spent many years as an ICU nurse, where she developed extensive experience caring for critically ill patients and managing complex medical conditions. As an APRN, she has continued to broaden her clinical skills through practice in both rural healthcare settings and neurosurgical patients.

Angela will be caring for our Northwest Kansas region, providing advanced wound care services throughout Moundridge and the surrounding communities. She will care for patients in their homes as well as in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, ensuring expert wound care is accessible wherever it is needed.

We are excited to welcome Angela to the Advanced Wound Specialists family. Her clinical expertise, compassionate approach, and dedication to serving patients make her an outstanding addition to our team. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on the patients, families, and communities we are privileged to serve.

💚 Never Give Up on Healing. 💚

For 12 years, one of our local patients lived with a chronic wound that simply wouldn't heal.

For over a decade, she endured pain, frustration, limitations, and the emotional weight that comes with feeling like healing may never happen. Simple daily activities became difficult, and life revolved around a wound that had become part of her everyday reality.

When she came to Advanced Wound Specialists, our team took the time to understand her—not just her wound. We developed a treatment plan tailored specifically to her needs and focused on giving her body the best opportunity to heal.

Just two visits later, something she hadn't experienced in 12 years finally happened...

Her wound healed.

Seeing her standing in her kitchen again, doing the things she loves, was incredible. Watching her and her daughter embrace our team with hugs of gratitude is a moment we'll never forget.

At Advanced Wound Specialists, we are blessed to have team members who don't just care for patients—they genuinely love them. Today, we'd like to shine a spotlight on someone who embodies that spirit every single day: Ericka Bumgardner, Certified Wound Care Technician and Certified Ultramist Technician.

Ericka is one of those rare people who makes an impact on everyone she meets. Her kindness is genuine, her compassion is endless, and her heart for serving others is evident in everything she does.

Whether she's greeting patients with a smile, calling to remind them about an appointment, providing Ultramist treatments, helping them through difficult moments, or celebrating a long-awaited healing milestone, Ericka approaches every interaction with warmth, empathy, and a sincere desire to make someone's day better.

Many of our patients come to us during some of the most challenging seasons of their lives. What makes Ericka so special is her ability to bring light into those moments. She makes people laugh when they need it most, listens when they need someone to hear them, and reminds them that they are more than just a diagnosis or a wound.

Her patients adore her, her coworkers appreciate her, and our team is stronger because of her.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank the primary care providers, home health agencies, hospitals, surgical centers, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, case managers, specialists, and healthcare teams who have trusted Advanced Wound Specialists with the care of their patients.

Healthcare isn't about competition—it's about collaboration.

When providers, nurses, therapists, facilities, and community organizations work together, patients win. This week we're celebrating one of the most beloved members of the Advanced Wound Specialists family—Christina Ryan, Wound Care Nurse, Team 1!

If you've met Christina, you know she's impossible to forget. She is the heart, backbone, and humor of our team, bringing compassion, laughter, and exceptional care to every patient she encounters.

Christina has a special gift for making people feel comfortable, even during some of their most difficult moments. She can turn an appointment into a conversation, a laugh, and a positive experience while still providing the outstanding clinical care our patients deserve.

It's no surprise that our patients and their families absolutely love her.

Behind the jokes and quick wit is an incredibly talented nurse whose dedication to patient care is second to none. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every patient feels heard, respected, and cared for. Her knowledge, work ethic, and ability to connect with people make her an invaluable part of our team.

She's brilliant. She's hilarious. She's fiercely loyal to her patients and coworkers.

And around the office, she's affectionately known as "The Problem." 😂
