Two weeks with sweet Caleb 💙How can something we waited so long for suddenly be going by so fast?

This mama is finding her rhythm in the newborn world — baby wearing, healing, adjusting, and making an incredible amount of nourishing milk for her sweet boy. He is absolutely thriving! Already 8 lbs 4 oz and very serious about his milk🤱🏽🥹

He’s spending these early days exactly where he belongs — tucked against his mama who can’t get enough of him and with a dad who looks at him completely in awe. There is just something so beautiful about watching this sweet family fall in love with their newest little person. 🤍

These postpartum visits always get me a little emotional. I watched this mama prepare for him, I witnessed the moment he entered the world, and now I get to watch her settle into motherhood with him.

The newborn days can feel long, but somehow the weeks are so incredibly short.

Soak it all in, sweet family. He’ll never be this little again🤍

How does 6 weeks go by THIS fast?! 🥹🤍

I can’t believe this sweet little cutie is already 11 lbs 4 oz! Growing, thriving, and getting so much of that healthy momma milk. 🍼✨ There’s truly nothing better than watching these babies grow and seeing their mommas settle into this new season.

The 6-week visit is always so bittersweet for me. After walking alongside a family through pregnancy, birth, and those first tender weeks postpartum, saying “see you later” always makes me a little sad. 🥹

But thankfully, I know it’s never really goodbye… because I’ll still get to see these sweet little faces around Nourish Chiropractic. 🤍

Watching your babies grow will forever be one of the greatest gifts of being your midwife. 🌿

Sometimes the birth story changes… but the strength of a mother never does. 🤍

This sweet baby girl’s story began with PROM — rupture of membranes before labor began. Her mama and I did everything we could to encourage labor and give her body the opportunity to move into labor on its own.

As labor progressed, it became clear that baby girl wasn’t quite in an optimal position. She was OP (occiput posterior), and we did all the things at home — position changes, movement, hands-on techniques, rest — working to help baby rotate and descend.

But the back labor became excruciating. Eventually, what this mama needed most was relief, rest, and time.

So we transferred to the hospital 🏥 for those services.

She received an epidural, Pitocin was started, and then we waited while her body and her baby continued doing their work.

Sixteen hours later, we finally met the sweetest baby girl. 🎀

Through every hour, every contraction, and every change in the plan… her mama kept going.

She is truly one of the strongest 💪🏼women I know.

And beside her was the most incredible birth team — her fiancée, loving and encouraging her through every moment, her amazing doula, Michelle, providing unwavering support and last but not least , Pooh Bear 🐶. Little Pooh Bear never left her side always watching, waiting, and giving lots of kisses 👅.

A transfer is not a failure. An epidural is not a failure. Pitocin is not a failure. A change in the birth plan is not a failure.

Sometimes good birth care means knowing when the plan needs to change.

The goal was never to prove she could birth at home. The goal was always a supported mother, a safe baby, informed choices, and a birth where she knew she was never alone.

And after one incredibly long journey, this beautiful baby girl was finally exactly where she belonged — in her mama’s arms. 🤍

Welcome earthside, sweet girl. You were so worth the wait and we are so in love with you 💖

✨ MIDWIFE LIFE… kind of chic ✨

Catching babies, sipping coffee, capturing birth photos, carrying a bag packed for the unexpected, praying over my clients, building a community for mamas, advocating for birth awareness, and watching clients become family. 🤍

Some days are beautiful, some are messy, some start before sunrise and end long after everyone else is asleep… but getting a front-row seat to the miracle of life never gets old.

It’s more than catching babies. It’s caring, educating, advocating, preparing, praying, laughing, crying, and walking alongside families through some of the most sacred moments of their lives.

And somehow… I get to call this my job.

Midwife life is kind of chic. ✨🤎

How does 2 weeks go by this fast?! 🥹🤍

It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming this sweet little one into the world… and now here we are at the two-week postpartum visit.

One of my favorite parts of walking through the door? Hearing all the little voices say, “Hi, Ms. Chloe!” 🥹 These families become so special to me, and getting to know and love on the siblings along the way is such a sweet part of midwifery care.

Baby is breastfeeding beautifully, growing strong, and settling right into life surrounded by five very loving siblings. This amazing mama is finding her new rhythm, recovering, adjusting, and navigating life as a mom of SIX. 🤍✨

These visits are about so much more than weights and vitals. They’re about checking in on mama, supporting feeding, loving on baby, celebrating the little victories, and watching an entire family settle into their new normal.

Two weeks earthside, sweet baby. Growing, thriving, and already so deeply loved. 🌿🤍

✨ He was in a hurry to meet them. ✨

This sweet baby boy made his entrance so quickly, there wasn’t even enough time to fill the birth tub. 🤍

Labor came in strong and intense, and his mama did what birth so often asks of us—she surrendered. She leaned into each wave, trusted her body, and allowed herself to move through the intensity until suddenly… he was here.

And then came that moment. The instant relief. The exhale. The realization that the work is over and your baby is finally in your arms. 🥹

Mom and Dad were completely enchanted by their little boy—taking him in, studying every tiny feature, and soaking up those first moments as a family.

Sometimes birth doesn’t give us time to prepare the room, fill the tub, or follow the “plan”

Sometimes baby simply says, “I’m ready.” 💙

Welcome earthside, sweet boy. You were so very ready to be loved. 🤍

✨ Homebirth: Myth vs. Fact ✨

There are a lot of opinions about homebirth—but not all of them are based on facts.

Fear often grows from misinformation, which is why I believe every family deserves access to evidence-based education so they can make informed decisions about their birth.

Homebirth isn’t about being “anti-hospital.” It’s about choosing the birth setting that is safest and most appropriate for your pregnancy, values, and goals. For healthy, low-risk pregnancies with a qualified midwife, planned homebirth is a well-studied option that can offer excellent outcomes.

Swipe through to separate myths from facts, and remember: asking questions is one of the best ways to advocate for yourself and your baby. 💚

✨ Fetal Positioning Matters! ✨

Did you know that your baby’s position in the womb can influence comfort during pregnancy, labor progression, and even how your baby navigates the birth canal?

While there is no guaranteed way to “position” a baby, encouraging balanced movement and optimal maternal alignment may create more space for baby to find a favorable position for birth.

Some simple ways to support optimal fetal positioning include:
🤍 Daily walking
🤍 Pelvic circles on a birth ball
🤍 Forward-leaning positions
🤍 Hands-and-knees stretches
🤍 Avoiding long periods of reclining
🤍 Gentle, consistent movement throughout pregnancy

Two of my favorite evidence-informed resources are:

🌿 Miles Circuit: A series of positions designed to encourage baby to move into a more favorable position for labor — https://www.milescircuit.com

🌿 Spinning Babies®: Education, daily activities, and body balancing techniques to help create more room for baby — https://www.spinningbabies.com

Remember—babies are wonderfully unique, and many babies born from posterior, OP, or other positions are delivered safely. These exercises aren’t about “fixing” your baby—they’re about supporting balance, comfort, and giving baby the best opportunity to find their own way.
