Henna is a small flowering plant that grows in tropical climates such as Africa and Northern Asia. When applied as a paste to the skin, it acts as sort of a temporary tattoo. After henna stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off by way of exfoliation, typically within one to three weeks. There are many different henna designs that stem from rich traditions in India, Africa, and the Middle East.

Next up on our countdown to Saturday is 🌳 In 2015 the Elgin Parks Department was recreated to better cater to the community's needs. The different divisions of the Parks Department add to the quality of life in our community by maintaining parks and green spaces. From Music in the Park, to fitness classes at the Rec Center, the native plant garden, and more, the Parks Department helps keep our community engaged and active.
