Brain health is not only built through exercise and puzzles.

Two of the most overlooked parts of the Nexus program are purposeful social engagement and stress reduction, and the research backs both.
Real conversation, shared activities, and a sense of belonging help protect against cognitive decline.
Lower stress supports better mood, better sleep, and better blood flow to the brain.

A shared meal, a game night, or a conversation on the porch is never just socializing here. It’s part of the plan.

Families tell us the same thing more than almost anything else. They wish they had called sooner.

I lead hospice partnerships at Silverado, and I know the word hospice can stop people cold. Many hear it and think it means giving up. It means the opposite.

Hospice is about taking the time someone has and making it the best it can possibly be. Expert nurses and caregivers help manage pain and symptoms so your loved one can be comfortable, present, and at peace. At home, or wherever home is right now. Support is there for the whole family, day and night.

You do not have to wait for a doctor to bring it up. You can call us directly, ask your questions, and together, we can determine when the time is right.

If you or someone you love is facing one of the hardest seasons a family can go through, we would be honored to help.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day.

There’s a misconception we hear often: that memory care is where life slows down and stops.

We see the opposite every day.

Residents who still go to church, still garden, still dance, still laugh with old friends and make new ones.

A diagnosis changes how someone remembers. It doesn’t change who they are or what they’re still capable of living.

Love is greater than fear.
Life doesn’t stop here.
It continues, differently, and still fully.

This is not simply a job Lorena shows up for.

She shows up fully, with heart, patience, and kindness.

Every day, she brings comfort to residents who need it most, and we are grateful to have her as part of the Silverado family.

There is something so special about seeing a resident light up when someone they love walks through the door.

Those moments of connection mean everything.

The hugs, the smiles, the familiar stories, and simply spending time together can bring so much comfort and joy.

At Silverado, family is always welcome and always an important part of our community.

We are grateful to share these meaningful moments and to help create a place that feels warm, familiar, and full of connection.

Stepping into this role, the first question people ask is what I plan to change.

The answer is that much of what matters most stays exactly as it is.

Our purpose does not change: changing the way memory care and end-of-life services are delivered, everywhere they are delivered.

Our vision does not change: providing quality of life for our residents, their families, and each other.

And our core operating philosophy does not change: Love is greater than fear.

That belief has guided this company for more than thirty years, and it will continue to guide the decisions we make.

What does change is the size of our ambition.

We are growing across the United States and internationally because the need is growing, and too few organizations do this work the way we believe it should be done.

We are also raising the bar on brain health, making it central to how we care for the whole person rather than treating it as a specialty subject. If we are going to lead in memory care, we have an obligation to lead in brain health as well.

Carrying forward a legacy this rich is a tremendous honor, and I do not take it lightly.

To every family who has trusted us with someone they love: thank you.

That trust is at the heart of everything we do.

We are excited about what comes next.

Chief Executive Officer and President, Silverado

Rhythm can reach us in ways words sometimes cannot.

In our Nexus Memory Care community, drum circles bring residents together through music, movement, and shared moments of joy.

Each beat offers an opportunity to engage the senses, find comfort in a familiar rhythm, and connect with those around us.

Even when words are harder to find, music offers a way to express ourselves and feel a sense of belonging, one beat at a time.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Silverado Memory Care! 💜

We asked our Associates how long they have been with Silverado and what they love about being here.

Hearing their answers was a heartfelt reminder of the people who make our communities so special.

Behind those years are relationships that have grown, residents who have become dear friends, and families who have found comfort in a familiar face.

To our Associates, thank you for taking the time to listen, learning the little things that matter to each resident, and bringing kindness to the moments that others may never see.

Your care means so much to the people who call Silverado home and to the families who place their trust in you.

We are grateful for you today and every day.

Happy Labor Day!

At Silverado, we believe the quality of a community is measured in moments, not metrics.

Every so often, a number comes along that reflects them.

Our Tustin community recently earned a score of one hundred percent.

Two weeks ago, we brought breakfast to Tustin to thank the associates behind it.

Wayne Sanner, our Chief Executive Officer and President, was joined by Carmin, Chief Financial Officer; Meredith, Regional Director of Sales; Tana, Regional Director of Operations; and Stephanie, Regional Nurse.

What we found there is what we always find in Tustin. Associates who know every resident by name and by story. Families greeted like family. Care given with dignity, on the ordinary Tuesday mornings when no one is watching and nothing is being scored.

That is the work. That is how lives are changed here, not in one dramatic moment but in thousands of quiet ones. The number simply confirms what the families who trust us already knew.

Thank you, Tustin.

Layers of color. A pinch of seasoning. A familiar tune.

Our activities are so much more than a craft table, they’re real instruction for people who have never lost their skill.

Painting, Culinary Club, Music: different crafts, same purpose.

Keeping hands steady, minds engaged, and hearts connected.

"Our family is having an incredible experience with the hospice team from Silverado Hospice LA at Silverado Calabasas memory care, and we are deeply grateful for the compassionate care they are providing to my father.

Two nurses in particular, Deby Lanza and Ina Purcarean, are truly extraordinary. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion mean so much to our entire family during a very difficult time. They treat my dad with such dignity and respect, always taking the time to explain things clearly and making sure he is comfortable.

Deby and Ina go above and beyond not only for my dad but also for our family. They bring a calm, reassuring presence and show such patience, warmth, and empathy in every interaction. It is clear they care deeply about the people they serve.

Hospice care requires a special kind of person, and Deb and Ina embody everything you would hope for in nurses during such an important time.

We are incredibly thankful for the support and care we are receiving from Silverado Hospice LA and will always be grateful for the compassion they show our family." -Dean W. Yelp Review

"I heavily researched hospices in the LA area before deciding on Silverado. They did not disappoint and were about as great as a hospice provider as I could ask for. My sister needed round-the-clock continuous care and they not only provided it, but worked hard against the bureaucracy and red tape of insurance to make sure that my sister had all the care and support she needed. I cannot believe how hard the staff worked to support my sister and my family during this trying time. They were professional, but more importantly, they treated us like fellow human beings. It was that feeling of love and support throughout the process that really made me glad I had chosen them.

Carina (Karina? Sp?) was on the phone and texting me from day 1 to ensure everything went smoothly. It felt like she was working 10-12 hour days for the first 4 days - whenever I needed something or had a question, she got back to me within an hour or two when a lot of things were in motion and I needed that level of coordination.

Daleth was the RN who visited my sister daily to check on her and she worked hard and thought creatively to ensure my sister's continuous care was uninterrupted by insurance's red tape. She was caring, thoughtful, empathetic, and excellent at her job. I felt so fortunate to have her as my sister's case manager.

The staffing agency Silverado used to supply continuous care for my sister was also a godsend. I worried that the nurses sent would be semi-committed or ambivalent about their jobs but they care SO SO much. Isaac checked on my sister like she was his own relative and Maria did the same as well. I couldn't believe there were so many committed and caring staff on the same team, it was all I could hope for.

Thank you again for caring for my sister. Your level of personal commitment and love is so appreciated by all of us." -Brian T. Yelp Review

Happy Nurses Week❣️❣️❣️❣️

This year’s theme, , fits hospice in a very real way. It’s not about big moments; it’s in the everyday work you do.
It’s the way you read a situation the moment you walk in. The way you manage symptoms and keep patients comfortable. The way you support a family that doesn’t know what to expect next. The way you balance clinical judgment with compassion. The way you are able to see patient changes with just your eyes and your heart and address them.

That’s the power of nurses.

Hospice is all about the ups and downs of life, and you are there through it all.

Thank you for the work you do every day.
