👉🏽 The Gut Health Superstar Most People Have Never Heard Of

Meet butyrate.

Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid made by your gut bacteria when they ferment certain fibers and resistant starches.

Why does that matter?

🦋 It helps nourish the cells that line your colon

🦋 Supports a healthy gut barrier

🦋 Helps regulate inflammation

🦋 Supports blood sugar balance

🦋 May help with appetite and cravings

🦋 Supports healthy energy production

The best part? Your body can make more of it naturally when you feed your gut bacteria the right foods.

Some of my favorites:

✔️ Cooked and cooled potatoes or rice (resistant starch)

✔️ Oats

✔️ Lentils and beans

✔️ Onions, garlic, leeks, and asparagus

✔️ A variety of colorful fruits and vegetables

Remember: if fiber causes bloating, don't force it. Start low, go slow, and work on supporting your gut first.

Your gut bacteria are like a garden. The more variety you feed them, the better they can thrive. 🌱

👉🏽 Nourish Like a Girl – Week 3: Healthy Fats for the Win 💙

This week's focus is improving your omega-3 to omega-6 balance by adding more healthy fats and reducing inflammatory oils.

Why does this matter?

When your cells get the right balance of fats, they can communicate better, support healthy metabolism, reduce inflammation, and improve energy production.

Some benefits people often notice include:

✨ Fewer cravings and less food noise

✨ Better focus and mental clarity

✨ Less bloating

✨ Improved blood sugar balance

✨ More energy and metabolic flexibility

For me, this week is about focusing on the foundations:

🥗 Prioritizing protein
🐟 Adding more omega-3-rich foods
🚶‍♀️ Daily movement
💧 Hydration and electrolytes
😴 Prioritizing sleep

Remember, progress doesn't require perfection. Small, consistent steps add up.

My challenge for you this week:

Choose ONE action step you can commit to every day and stick with it.

👉🏽 Most people think fiber is only about digestion.

But fiber can also help support healthy blood sugar levels.

When paired with protein, fiber can help slow digestion and reduce blood sugar spikes after meals.

That's one reason I encourage my clients to focus on protein and fiber together.

Not protein OR fiber.

Protein AND fiber.

Simple. Practical. Effective. 👊🏽

👉🏽 Fiber: The Unsung Hero of Gut Health ✨

Most people focus on protein, calories, or carbs...
But fiber might be one of the most powerful things you can add to your plate.

✔️ Supports healthy digestion

✔️ Helps keep you feeling full longer

✔️ Feeds beneficial gut bacteria

✔️ Supports blood sugar balance

✔️ May help improve energy and mental clarity

⚠️ P.S. Go low and slow.

If adding fiber makes you feel more bloated, gassy, or uncomfortable, don't assume fiber is the problem.

What if it's a sign your gut needs support?

Sometimes constipation, poor gut motility, dehydration, stress, or an imbalanced microbiome can make increasing fiber feel worse before it feels better.

Start slowly, stay hydrated, and listen to your body. 💙

💙 Beach day with some of the most amazing women... and a heart full of gratitude.

My 3 biggest takeaways from the retreat:

1️⃣ Love yourself from the inside out.

2️⃣ Community matters. We were never meant to do life alone.

3️⃣ Health is better together. Healing, growth, and transformation happen when we support and encourage one another. 👊🏽

So thankful for the connections, conversations, and friendships made this week. 🌊☀️

💙 If you're struggling with your health journey, or just feeling stuck, know this: you don't have to do it alone.

Support, accountability, and community can make all the difference.

I'm here for you! 💙

💙 What an incredible weekend at the Live Like a Girl Retreat!

So grateful for the wisdom, laughter, and connection shared with Dr. Mindy, Paige, Dr. Victoria, Nancy Levin, and all of the amazing women who showed up as their authentic selves.

I came for the learning, but I'm leaving with something even more valuable, friendships. These women are no longer just faces in a room. They're my new girl gang, and I couldn't be more thankful. ✨

There's something powerful about being surrounded by women who support, inspire, challenge, and cheer each other on.

My heart is full. 💙

Tell me: Have you ever attended an event where you left with lifelong friendships?

💙 Reset, Reconnect and Rise.

This week I'm in San Jose, California, at the Live Like a Girl Retreat with Dr. Mindy Pelz, taking time to learn, grow, and connect with women who are committed to living healthier, stronger lives.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down long enough to listen to your body.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to step away, refill my cup, and bring back new insights on gut health, hormones, metabolism, and thriving in midlife.

✨ When women support women, amazing things happen.

👇 What's one area of your health you'd like to improve before the end of the year?

06/10/2026

👉🏽 Fiber was a game-changer for me. 💙

One of the simplest changes I made on my health journey was increasing my fiber intake. My digestion improved, my blood sugar became more stable, and I felt fuller between meals.

But here's the important part:

✨ Everybody is different.

If increasing fiber causes bloating, gas, or discomfort, don't force it.

That's often a sign that something deeper may need attention, such as gut health, digestion, hydration, or the speed at which fiber was added.

Try:

✔️ Increasing fiber slowly
✔️ Drinking more water
✔️ Choosing cooked vegetables instead of raw
✔️ Adding just one fiber-rich food at a time

Your body gives you feedback.

Listen to it.

Fiber can be an incredible tool, but the goal is finding what works for your body.

👇 What's your favorite high-fiber food?

🥳🎂 Yes, I'm eating the cake.

Today is my birthday, and I'm celebrating.

A few years ago, I would've felt guilty about every bite. Now? Not so much.

I've learned that health isn't built by one meal, one workout, or one slice of cake.

It's built by the habits you repeat day after day.

My foundations are in place:

💙 Prioritizing protein
💙 Eating fiber
💙 Strength training
💙 Managing stress
💙 Getting quality sleep

So today, I'm eating the cake.

Because balance beats perfection every single time.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, messages, texts, and love. I appreciate every one of you more than you know. 🥰

Now for the important question...

🍰 What's your favorite cake?

Mine is Chantilly Cake! 😋👇

💙 Week 2 of Dr. Mindy's Nourish Like a Girl program!

This week's focus is Eat in the Light ☀️

Dr. Mindy and her team are teaching how important our circadian rhythm is when it comes to metabolism, hormones, sleep, and energy. Every cell in our body follows an internal clock that is influenced by light, darkness... and even when we eat.

This week, I'm challenging myself and YOU to:

✅ Finish eating by sunset or no later than 7 PM

✅ Stop eating 2–3 hours before bed

✅ Get outside for morning sunlight

✅ Continue a fasting schedule that feels supportive, not stressful

As the sun goes down, our bodies shift into rest, repair, and recovery mode. Eating earlier may help support healthy insulin function, hormone balance, sleep quality, and how our bodies use energy.

I'm curious to see what changes I notice in my sleep, digestion, and energy this week.

Are you someone who eats dinner early, or are you a late-night snacker? 👇
