Did someone say SENSORY POWERHOUSES????

The sensory powerhouses drive us to learn, grow and expand. The sensory systems are designed to help us conquer the challenges of our world. However, when a powerhouse misfires, a child is faced with a chaotic world that is hard to understand and manage.

The sensory powerhouses consist of vestibular, proprioception and tactile. Join us for our sensory series where we take a deep dive into each powerhouse! Stay tuned !!!! 🎊🎉

Let’s learn about Proprioception!!

Proprioception is the body’s ability to sense its position in space, adjust movement, and force without relying on visual input. This allows a child to coordinate muscle movement effectively to adjust to ever changing environment. We use weights to increase the feedback to the proprioception resulting not only in strengthening the muscle but enhancing the feedback to the child on how they are moving.

Let’s talk about articulation!!

One of the most important parts for articulation and being able to pronounce a letter/sound correctly is to know where the letter sits in the word. It’s good practice for the child to listen and say where a letter/ sound sits in either the beginning, middle or end of a word.

Call us today to hear more about our speech program!!!
