💜 To our pharmacy technicians—thank you.
When you pick up a prescription, you may not see everything it took to get it ready.
Our technicians spend hours on the phone with insurance companies, work through rejected claims, contact doctors for refills and missing information, track down medications in short supply, and help patients find affordable options.
They carefully enter prescription information, count medications, prepare labels, and get prescriptions ready for the pharmacist to check—all while answering ringing phones, helping patients at the counter, and keeping up with the drive-thru.
It takes knowledge, concentration, patience, and constant attention to detail. The work is demanding, and the responsibility is real.
To our technicians at Variety Drug, Mt. Blue Drug, and Belfast Drug Company: we see how hard you work. We see you keep trying when the answer isn’t easy, and we see how much you care about the person waiting for their medication.
💜 Please remember to be kind to the team behind the counter. We understand that waiting for medication or dealing with insurance can be frustrating. The person helping you is often working through those same obstacles on your behalf. A little patience and a simple “thank you” can make a difficult day better.
I am deeply grateful for each of you. Thank you for showing up for our patients and for one another, especially on the hardest days. You make our pharmacies places where people feel cared for.
