📢 Important CFFEIM Service Update 💚

Due to the recent severe weather, continued flooding, and additional rain expected in our area, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Thriver’s Day celebration scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, August 15.

The safety of our Cancer Thrivers, families, volunteers, and community remains our priority. We are disappointed that we cannot gather together as planned, but we look forward to finding more opportunities to celebrate our Thrivers in the future. 💜🎗️

In place of our regular August Grocery Day, CFFEIM plans to provide grocery gift cards to our recipients for the month of August. Additional information regarding August services and gift card distribution will be shared directly with our recipients as details are finalized.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as CFFEIM navigates the impact of recent weather conditions and flooding. Please continue to stay safe and take care of yourselves and one another. 💚

I want to thank Flossmoors' own, Dunning's Gourmet Market and Deli -est 1958 for the amazing 5th year of Battle of the Chefs. Congratulations to Maureen and her team for winning the battle.
The Center for Food Equity in Medicine was also grateful to have been selected as one of the recipient organizations of the funds raised.

Today, we celebrate our nation's independence while reflecting on the values of freedom, unity, and community.

At the Center for Food Equity in Medicine, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life with access to nutritious food, compassionate care, and the resources they need to thrive. As we gather with family and friends this Independence Day, we're grateful for the volunteers, partners, donors, and supporters who help us build stronger, healthier communities every day.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, caregivers, mentors, and father figures who provide love, guidance, strength, and support to their families and communities.

At the Center for Food Equity in Medicine, we recognize the many fathers who show up every day—not only for their loved ones, but also while navigating their own health journeys and caregiving responsibilities. Your dedication, resilience, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

We also hold space today for those who are remembering fathers no longer with us, those missing loved ones, and those carrying the legacy of a father who made a lasting impact on their lives.

This exciting fundraiser supports CFFEIM’s mission to ensure that no one facing a life-altering health condition—especially cancer—goes hungry. Proceeds help provide grocery deliveries, hospital admission kits, holiday bundles, nutrition outreach, and patient empowerment programs for families across Chicagoland and beyond. 💚
