The Medicare hospice benefit was built on a simple, powerful promise. That dying people have the right to die well, with comfort, dignity, and the people they love around them.
When you or someone you love elects this benefit, here is what you were promised:
• A nurse who visits regularly and manages symptoms
• A doctor who stays engaged with the care plan
• A social worker who supports the whole family

The doctor just said there's nothing else they can do, and it's time for hospice.
