What a wonderful surprise for our team!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Gulley Greenhouse Inc., Pathways employees are receiving a beautiful assortment of flowers to plant and enjoy. This thoughtful donation is a colorful reminder of something we experience every day — our community cares deeply about the people who care for others.

Acts of kindness come in many forms, and today they arrived in the shape of vibrant blooms, fresh soil, and a little extra sunshine.

We are grateful to Gulley Greenhouse for helping brighten the day for our employees and for being such a thoughtful community partner. Thank you for helping our team grow, both at work and at home.

Headlines about new CMS announcements have gotten a lot of folks’ attention lately.

Here’s what Northern Colorado families and healthcare partners should know:

Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care is not impacted by the recently announced CMS actions focused on newly enrolling hospice organizations in certain markets.

For nearly 50 years, Pathways has remained Northern Colorado’s trusted, community-based nonprofit hospice, serving families with compassion, integrity, and clinical excellence.

✔ Northern Colorado’s only 4-star hospice according to Medicare CMS Care Compare
✔ 2026 BBB Torch Award for Ethics recipient
✔ ACHC accredited
✔ Region’s only hospice inpatient care center of its kind
✔ Nationally recognized Grief & Loss program

In moments that matter most — no matter the time of day — experience, ethics, and quality matter.

What makes compassionate care possible? Community.

Pathways team members Lara Hanes and Natalie Petersen recently joined Brian Gary and Tanner Schwind on Good Morning NOCO to discuss the donors, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who help make our mission possible every day.

They also addressed some of the most common misconceptions about hospice care and shared thoughtful guidance on how families and communities can have more informed conversations about end-of-life care.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share how community connections strengthen the care we provide across Northern Colorado.

Mental Health Awareness Month is an important reminder that emotional support often begins with connection.

In the thoughtful blog post linked below, Brooke Rambold explores the role of co-regulation in caregiving and grief — the way calm, compassionate presence can help us feel grounded during difficult moments.

Whether it’s a quiet conversation, holding a hand, or simply sitting beside someone who cares, these moments of connection can make a meaningful difference for patients, caregivers, and loved ones navigating serious illness and loss.

In hospice care, not everything that needs to be felt can be put into words.

Sometimes emotions are too big, too complex, or too quiet to explain. That’s where expressive therapies can help provide comfort, connection, and support in different ways.

Music can bring back memories, create calm, and offer emotional release. Art can help express feelings that are difficult to describe. Pet therapy can provide grounding companionship and moments of peace without requiring a single word.

These therapies are not about creating something perfect or saying the “right” thing. They simply create space for people to show up exactly as they are.

At Pathways, we recognize that healing and support look different for everyone. Through music, art, pet therapy, and other supportive approaches, we help patients and families find moments of comfort, connection, and expression during life’s most tender transitions.

You don’t have to find the right words to be supported. Sometimes, expression begins in other ways.
