ty fight the disease. Leading up to the Relay, there will be fundraising activities, community events & even a can food drive. Cans of food will be used in our luminaria bags that will line our runway during the Relay. After the event, all cans of food will be donated to local Broward County food banks and pantries. So start collecting cans, form a team, become a sponsor, volunteer or donate a luminaria. Every dollar makes a difference towards the flight against cancer! SCHEDULE

Opening Ceremonies: 5:00PM (survivor dinner to follow)
Cancer survivors and caregivers, young and old, are invited to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the Relay For Life by walking the Survivor’s Victory Lap on our new runway followed by a complimentary dinner in your honor. This symbolic tribute honors cancer survivors, their caregivers and celebrates life! If you are a cancer survivor and would like them to be honored, please let us know. Seating is limited and based on reservations only. If you are a cancer survivor please call or email _______(TBA)__________________ to reserve your seat. Candlelight/Luminaria Ceremony: 9:00 PM
The candlelight ceremony begins after dark at Relay For Life. Light a candle, or have one lit in your absence, as a memorial to a loved one who has lost their battle to cancer or in honor of a cancer survivor. The heartfelt love and caring shared by friends and family during this ceremony is moving and healing. Closing Ceremony:TBA
The Closing Ceremony is a time to remember the lives of those lost and to celebrate that each of us has committed, through our participation in a Relay event, to fight back against this disease. What is Relay For Life? "Relay For Life" is a the nationwide signature event for the American Cancer Society and the single largest non-profit event in the world. It is about a community that takes up the fight against cancer in a way that is a celebratory, fun and a unique experience. Unlike any other walk or fundraising event, Relay For Life is normally an overnight experience of a lifetime, but our Relay will be held 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM as part of a series of festivities surrounding the opening of our bran new 10R-28L Runway. At Relay, teams pitch tents and decorate in the theme their team has chosen and everybody is “Ready to Relay”. Throughout the evening participants enjoy entertainment, games, music, great food, camaraderie and tons of FUN. Long before the last walkers approach the finish line at closing ceremonies, new lifelong friends have been made, old friends and family have been hugged and all hearts have been touched by the magic that is Relay For Life. Teams of people from Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport to run, stroll and roll against cancer, keeping at least one member of the team walking, representing the team at all times during the event. Teams are formed from groups of families and friends, co-workers, and civic or religious organizations. Enjoy family-oriented fun and entertainment in your own neighborhood, while raising funds and awareness in the battle against cancer. For more information contact:
