One of my favorite tattoos I've ever done cost the client $25. 👀

Team sun or team moon? This moth is both. 🌞🌙

I drew it myself as an apprentice, when I only charged for supplies. Now I'd charge at least $350, probably more, for that!

She booked this early in my apprenticeship, maybe before I'd tattooed anyone. I worried I couldn't pull off this design yet, quite detailed, tons of color blending, semi fine lines! Wanted her to have my best.

So I booked her toward the end instead. She was totally understanding and waited several weeks to be tattooed by me!

I was trying out new red stencil paper and it gave up on life partway thru! I was super careful and pulled it off! She was a trooper even though it hurt.

Fun fact: the first human skin I ever tattooed was my own. 🐝

Real question: would you ever tattoo yourself? 👀

My first real appointment was booked for May 28th. Client canceled. So that day wasn't passing without a needle touching human skin. I did it on myself.

Five full minutes staring at my ankle before I could start. Terrified. Then the needle went in and honestly? Not that bad. My hip and knee hurt worse from the chair position. 😅

Then I told my husband I had an open wound and got fully babied. No dishes, no oven. 😂

He's a traditional black and grey bee on my inner ankle. Four years as a beekeeper on our Oregon farm. Swipe through, from stencil to four and a half months healed.

It's officially been over four months of tattooing humans, and today I finished my first cover up! 🎉

Florals will never go out of style and I will die on this hill. Fight me. 😌

Okay, story time. This was the first time I'd ever tattooed anything like this design. And of course it was on my very good friend Mariah, who also happens to be my wax girl. The pressure was unreal. I could NOT screw this up, because that woman has ways of hurting me. 😅

So I practiced the whole thing on fake skin first. And I'm so glad I did. This black and grey illustrative floral piece came out exactly how I wanted. Big flowy petals, soft shading, all those leaves, and this tiny butterfly hanging out on the side.

This is the kind of tattoo that reminds me why I love what I do. Give me flowers and I'm happy.

We’re celebrating the opening of Bewitching Brews in the Cherry Bomb Tattoo parking lot with Brews & Tattoos!

We’ll be tattooing from 11AM–9PM, and Bewitching Brews will be serving coffee from 10AM–4PM. We’ll also have some crafts for sale out front!

I could’ve kept tattooing. I chose not to. 👀

This was actually her second tattoo with me! She originally came in for one of our specials, which gave her a chance to get a feel for me before trusting me with a much bigger project.

And luckily, we get along super well. 😂💕

I’ve been looking forward to this tattoo for a while, and the session went SO well. She was sitting beautifully, we were having a good time, and I got through a ton of this illustrative floral work.

But toward the end, I could feel myself starting to lose steam. I was tired. I’d hit my limit for the day.

So even though we weren’t completely finished, I stopped.

I’d rather have someone come back for another session than keep pushing myself just because we originally hoped to finish everything that day.

She’ll be back in a few weeks so I can finish the shading AND add color. 😍 And I’m already excited for whatever other projects she brings me after this one!
