How and with whom women experience birth plays a significant role in her risk for maternal mental health conditions.

1 in 3 women communicate their birth experience as traumatic and 1 in 5 will experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder.

Every mother deserves informed decision making and respectful maternity care, especially if her birth unfolds differently than her preferences and goals.
