Morning sickness is often brushed off as “just hormones” in pregnancy.

And while hormones do play a role, they’re not the whole story for many women.

Your body is doing a massive amount of work in pregnancy. Building a baby while also managing shifts in blood sugar regulation, digestion, hormones shifts, and nutrient demand. Most women don’t struggle in postpartum because they’re doing something wrong.

They struggle because no one actually helps them understand what’s happening in their body.

So you end up here:

You’re exhausted, but sleep doesn’t fix it.
Anxious, but you can’t explain why.
Foggy, overwhelmed, not feeling like yourself… but being told you’re “fine.”

So you start trying everything.

We didn’t want wait to start a family, we were told not to.

Two years before I got pregnant, my provider told me my body couldn’t handle pregnancy.

I was battling mold poisoning + autoimmune disease symptoms and it wasn’t a good idea for me to try to get pregnant. It would put me and baby at risk if I was able to get pregnant.

I remember crying with my husband after that visit and spending the next 2 years sad that my life looked different than I thought it would.

But in the heartbreak, we both made a decision. To prepare our bodies for the baby we would get some day.

During that time, I started supporting my body in a way I never had before.

Slowly rebuilding.
Deeply nourishing.
Actually paying attention to what it needed.

And 2 years later when I got the all clear from my provider and I got pregnant, I could feel the difference.

This is why I care so much about this now.

Because women don’t get the support they need for pregnancy. You are told to get pregnant when your body is telling you differently.

I didn’t expect postpartum to feel like this.

I had a great pregnancy.
I prioritized my nutrition.
I prepared for postpartum.

And still… I ended up with insomnia, anxiety, low milk supply, and a nervous system that felt like it couldn’t settle.

For a while, I kept thinking:
What am I doing wrong?

But at 3 months postpartum, I finally got answers.

My body wasn’t failing me.
It was depleted.

Even with a “healthy” lifestyle, I was low in key minerals—calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium—and it was affecting everything:
