How to start lifting weights after 50, simply, safely, and in a way that actually fits real life. No gym, no hour-long workouts, no getting bulky.

You know you need to lift weights in midlife. You know your muscle matters more than ever. But where do you actually start? How many days? How heavy? In this episode I hand you the whole beginner method. The 4 simple pieces that build real strength after menopause, backed by research on women's bodies (not bro-science).

Here's what we cover:
✔ Why muscle is your #1 ally after 50
✔ What the research really says about strength training in menopause: bone density, blood sugar, and getting stronger on just 2 days a week
✔ The 4-part beginner framework: keep moves simple, start small, lift "heavy for you," and recover
✔ The mindset shift that makes it finally stick

I'm Cam Allen, a menopause health & fitness coach and NLP master coach. Since 2010 I've helped thousands of women in midlife build strength and stop fighting their bodies. This is your starting line.

At first, you may think you need more willpower, more discipline, or another fitness plan.

But lasting change happens when you see yourself as the woman creating your health.

When you change the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns behind your choices, your actions begin to change. Your body will follow.

Your mind is one of the most powerful health tools you have.

Follow Cam Allen | Midlife Muscle + NLP Coach for a new way to see midlife health.

Over the years of coaching women, I started noticing a pattern.

The women who made lasting changes learned to think about things differently.

For the past two years, I’ve been studying hypnosis, NLP, and mindset coaching. Megan Blacksmith

Lasting change gets easier when your mind and body are working together.

We often argue for decisions we made a long time ago.

“I don’t have time to work out.”

“I’ve never been consistent.”

“This is just the way I am.”

Your mind finds ways to keep those decisions in place, even when we want something totally different.

But there is more than one way to the top of the mountain.

When you learn how to help your brain see something differently, you create more choices. And a new choice can change what happens next.

I’m ready to start talking about this part of my work more publicly. Follow along.

I roared into menopause thinking rest and recovery didn’t matter and that it was just me just being lazy.

Boy, did I learn that the hard way.

The workout sends the signal to your bones and muscles.

Rest is when they actually rebuild stronger.

Working out is step 1. Step 2 is letting yourself recover.

If you have been working out hard and aren’t seeing your body composition change, try adding an extra rest day and report back.

Rest may be what you need most! (Speaking from experience)
