As I ponder at recent events with the Lamb family, and not seeing Johnathon Lamb who was such a wonderful son for years with love and respect at his mothers funeral, who was not mentioned at her funeral or allowed to share in her loss, I feel a deep level of God's confirmation like never before. First I send love to you Johnathon and Suzie. I can't imagine your wounds, but I can sense them.
It really does make me think about what is happening in our world of where we put misguided leaders of family who tried to control narratives and are deeply misguided, yet because they hold financial gain everyone allows it to occur. I see ministries on pedestals when they are actually broken, driven by appearances of perfection, greed and their own families are fighting like animals when the cameras are off. Then there are those Priests and Pastors who are molesting children, having affairs and go on carrying God's message and I am disgusted. There comes a time you put a line in the sand and realize almost everything is not what it appears. It is so sad to see how money really is the root of evil put in the wrong hands. Sewing seeds in these ministries for me is a donation that goes into the pockets of the misguided. I can't do it anymore. I would rather give to a neighbor in need, a friend in need or a stranger who appears to need a helping hand. But to these ministries and leaders who are not doing anything to build trust, and who are not creating a vision to build children schools to help protect the minds of our little ones from what is happening in the public sector, I see many churches and their leaders as needing as much help as those who need rehab.
Pain to Promise and our workshops exists as an independent resource not connected to any religion or ministry. I refuse to attach God's message to anything that is corrupt or that has not done the work to at most appear genuine. We have survived and given for 20+ years donating time and resources without asking for help from anyone.
To those suffering in silence, don't be ashamed. You are deeply loved by a God that will never forsake you. That is why investing your own time with the LORD is so important. So you can observe and listen to see what matches up to what he shares inside of you.
God has shown me a lot of things through the years, things I was shown ahead of it's own time. The divide is real and happening. And we have to chose. The people we surround us are vital.
The time we spend on our inner self and our journey of what love is and what is not, is discovering the true church within. And the ability to still pray over what does not line up with God, while separating ourselves from what is toxic is so important. Because I believe prayer is activation of God doing what we cannot.
We do not need to endure deception, betrayals and brokenness in such a way that we become victims. Sometimes you have to fight and be bold with saying "no more" and sometimes you have to distance yourself and let the fight be left with those who work so hard to destroy what is good, but can never reach what is good because we are busy building the kingdom within and in our circle of life where joy resides without their influence or nonsense.
As God continues to pour into my heart, I may wake up with another revelation, a change of opinion or direction, but for now, all I know I have turned off the television and media outlets where they work to control the mind of our youth and loved ones and I am busy building the kingdom in quiet places with beautiful people who treasure the sound of the Holy Spirits voice not just when the cameras are on, but when nobody is looking. xoxo
