You can argue Invest 97L looks better than any of the junk we have seen all season. Latest ASCAT pass shows a well defined low-level circulation.
97L will be in a uniquely favorable environment beginning tonight, though it will only have about 40 hours to ramp up.
Houston to Lake Charles should definitely monitor this.
Small/compact systems can strengthen quickly, and have a unique ability to fend off an otherwise marginal environment. This doesn't mean something extreme is in play, however, there could be some appreciable/noticeable impacts.
