Did you hear my story about the woodpecker I was sure had perished from my window?

I was just sitting, unassumingly, when BAM! Nature interrupted my thoughts for an important message I apparently needed to hear, right then.

This week's 🌿 Message from Nature is live on Substack, and I'd love for you to read it. There's also a practice and ritual to help you reconnect with the life force that moves through all of Nature… including you.

You can find it on Substack! [Link in comments]

This week I was humbled… by a woodpecker.

I had just finished our Second Nature Reiki meditation, and I was sitting quietly in that lovely afterglow when Nature interrupted with a bang.

It was a small downy woodpecker that flew right into our picture window… hard.

My response was very unexpected. I was humbled, but I certainly learned a valuable lesson about life and myself. It’s funny how the world has a way of teaching you lessons you didn’t even know you needed in ways you never expected.

So what happened? The full story and a ritual for resilience are live on Substack now! Come join me, and let me know if you’ve ever experienced a message quite so dramatic! [Link in comments]

Sometimes life has a way of surprising you and sending you the message you needed.

The other night, I was basking in the energy we had just created in our Second Nature Reiki Germination circle when BANG!
A woodpecker flew right into my picture window, and she wasn’t moving.

In this week’s 🌿 Message from Nature, I discovered something about myself that had been just below the surface, and I had no idea. I was shocked.

Life and Nature always give you the message you need, but rarely the one you expect.

Why is this woodpecker so important? What message does she carry? Discover this on Sunday on Substack! And if you love it, feel free to let me know by liking the article!

Have you ever been somewhere completely ordinary—maybe standing at the kitchen counter, half awake, going through the motions—when a single smell stopped you in your tracks?

There’s a reason for this, and I had this exact experience earlier this week.

Our brains are wired to receive scent most directly (compared to our other senses). It goes straight to your heart and bypasses the thinking mind entirely.

Why? Find out on Substack this week, and where I was transported by one simple smell. [Link in comments]

Today, and every day, there is a mother who has never once let you down. 🌿

She doesn't ask you to be different than you are. She just keeps offering warmth, ground, and nourishment… trusting that you'll find your way.

This week's reflection is a gentle invitation to let the Earth actually mother you, maybe for the first time in a while. Enjoy some thought-provoking journaling prompts and a Reiki-based ritual to ground into the loving and nurturing energy of the day.

Last week's anniversary message got me thinking about how far back this Nature Your Soul concept really goes.

Nature always knows how to hold you. Nature is your protector.

And there is no better protector than the mighty lilac tree.

As a child, I used to go and hide under it for refuge when life got scary or out of control. This seems to be a common thing amongst children. What makes a lilac bush such a safe place?

What I know now is that the lilacs weren't just shelter. They were my first teachers, and something in me already understood that.

April showers bring May flowers.

My assistant, Sarah, wrote a message about the beauty of spring rain on her cozy, little island on the west coast of Canada.

While many people get bummed during a rainy day, there is actually so much beauty that comes from it. It’s really the perfect time to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea.

And don’t get me started on that fresh rain smell or rainbows!

But there is true beauty that comes from those spring rainy days. Spring is a time of awakening and growth, and Nature needs rain to grow. Rain doesn’t last forever, but it sure does bring some of the most beautiful spring scenes.

Thread by thread, breath by breath—you are already weaving your way home.

The Artemis II returned from the moon the other day, and it has me thinking a lot about life and home.

Sometimes life carries you farther than you meant to go, but the return always feels so sweet, and what you learned about yourself and life... priceless.

The world is coming back to life.

We have this feel of return, of resurrection. Nature has been feeling it, and now, she has something to show us…

Think about your first memories of things. Your first sunset, your first play at the park, the first time you read your favorite book.

As children, we experience everything with an intense curiosity and wonder. But somewhere along the way, we stopped noticing things in that way.

But we can return to the state…
