Perfect for a full moon ritual 🌕
🕯️ Family Peace & Reconciliation Spell
Gather what color you have white or light-blue candle preferred , frankincense, rosemary, lavender, cedar, juniper, rose petals, lemon balm, and one bay leaf. For crystals, rose quartz and amethyst are especially fitting, but clear quartz works too. You don’t need every ingredient—the intention can stay the same with what you have.
Before beginning, open a window or door slightly. Think of it as giving the heaviness somewhere to leave. Because herbal and resin smoke can irritate pets, keep your animals away from the room and use only a very small amount with ventilation.
On your bay leaf, write:
PEACE • HEALING • FORGIVENESS • UNDERSTANDING
If you’d like, carve PEACE into your blue candle. Place the candle in the center, with your crystals around it.
Begin with a tiny amount of frankincense, followed by your cleansing herbs. As the fragrance rises, move through the space and say:
**“I release from this home the weight of anger,
resentment, misunderstanding and pain.
What has divided us may no longer rule us.
What has wounded us is given space to heal.
Let harsh words lose their power.
Let old arguments loosen their hold.
Let the heaviness between us be released.
May this home be cleansed and protected,
and may peace find its way through every door.”**
Return to your candle. Hold the bay leaf between your hands for a moment and think about the outcome, rather than particular people behaving exactly as you want: family members talking again, calmer conversations, misunderstandings being resolved, and everyone feeling heard.
Place the bay leaf underneath or beside the candle holder—not close enough to the flame to catch fire.
Light your light-blue candle and say:
**“By this blue flame, I welcome peace.
Where there is anger, bring calm.
Where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity.
Where there is distance, open a path toward reconciliation.
Where words have wounded, bring healing.
May we listen before we judge.
May we speak without cruelty.
May pride soften enough for truth to be heard.
May forgiveness come where forgiveness is possible.
I bind no heart.
I command no will.
I ask only that what divides us lose its strength,
and that love, respect and understanding be given room to grow.
Peace before us.
Peace behind us.
Peace between us.
Peace within us.
May our family find its way back to one another.
So may it be.”**
Sit with the candle for several minutes. Picture soft blue light spreading from the flame throughout the house. Imagine it surrounding each family member separately before gently connecting everyone. Don’t picture anyone surrendering or admitting they’re wrong—picture everyone becoming calmer and more receptive to one another.
🌙 Closing the ritual
Let the candle burn for a safe amount of time, then s***f it rather than leaving it unattended. You can relight it for a few minutes each evening for seven nights, repeating:
“Peace within us, peace between us, love guide the way.”
Keep the bay leaf with your rose quartz/amethyst during those seven days. On the seventh night, thank whatever spiritual tradition or higher power you personally work with and return the herbs/bay leaf to the earth or dispose of them respectfully.
And there’s one thing I’d add to this particular working: don’t ask that everything simply return to how it used to be. Ask for something better—peace with healthier communication, mutual respect, truth, and appropriate boundaries. Reconciliation is most valuable when the underlying hurt can actually change rather than simply being covered over. 🩵🕯️🌿
So mote it be !
