Return to Softness
Dear one,
come sit by the quiet tide
where the world loosens its grip
and the wind remembers your name.
You have carried so much—
stories that pressed too hard against your heart,
moments you wish you could unsee,
echoes you wish had never found you.
Once, you believed in gentleness
like it was the natural order of things.
Like sunlight.
Like waves that always come back.
But somewhere along the way,
the noise grew louder than truth,
and the harshness of the world
tried to sand down your softness
until it almost disappeared.
Almost.
Because it is still here.
It lives in the way you pause
before speaking.
In the way you still hope.
In the way your heart reaches—
even after everything.
The world will try to convince you
that kindness is weakness,
that softness is something to outgrow,
that armor is the only way to survive.
That is not truth.
Softness is not what broke you—
it is what carried you through.
So shelter it, dear one.
Guard it like a small, steady flame
cupped against the wind.
Turn down the noise
that feeds on fear.
Step away from the voices
that dim your light.
There is still goodness here.
Still quiet miracles.
Still people choosing love
in ways the headlines never show.
And you—
you are one of them.
Do not let the world
take from you
what makes you whole.
Return to the tide.
Return to breath.
Return to the gentle place inside
that no storm has ever reached.
Your softness is sacred.
Your heart is still good.
And nothing—
not the noise,
not the past,
not the darkness—
gets to take that from you.
