These everlasting beauties are heading to this afternoon! Big beautiful bouquets and bunches of green and golden wheat.

Have you visited Marigold before? I hadn't until last week. It is a darling shop in the sweetest little town! (I confess I'd never been to Durham before either. Remember, I'm based in Tehama county - and I guess I just don't get out much!). So happy to be able to supply the shop with some florals over the winter while fresh flowers aren't available.

As I told most customers last week, our "be careful what you wish for" winter has finally gotten the best of us. Rain, hail, rain, wind, rain, snow and COLD have all wreaked havoc in one way or another. We just need some warmth to get things growing again! And luckily, after one more good atmospheric river on Monday, just for good measure, we've had several beautiful days and I can see a difference in growth already! So, I'm sitting the market out today, but I'm pretty confident we'll be back next week.

Despite the fact that it's only 35 degrees, the sky is blue, the sun is strong, and there is no wind at the Chico farmers market this morning.

Our Full Flavored baby leaf salad mix got as new level of flavor this week. In addition to the usual mustards, kale, pac choi and endive, we've added some beet greens - and sorrel, which adds a wonderful lemony punch!

Keith makes a killer hearty farmer breakfast! We have so much planting to do today, we are fueled up!

Including a serving or two of steamed greens (mizuna raab today) in our breakfast gives us a head start on the 5 daily servings of vegetables/fruit we "try" to get every day. ("Try", because we don't always eat right. We get busy, work too long, skip a meal and snack instead. Maybe just like you?). Have you tried eating vegetables for breakfast?
