One of the best parts of growing this little business has been getting to know the people behind so many of the other businesses around us. And as Brewed Bee continues to grow, we’d love to grow alongside more of them.

We’re currently looking to partner with local shops, cafés, restaurants, bakeries, and other small businesses that would be a good fit for what we make.

Our raw Nebraska honey is available in retail jars for store shelves, as well as larger food-service containers for cafés, restaurants, bakeries, and anyone who would like to use local honey in what they make or serve.

We also offer our line of beeswax products for retail, including body care, candles, candle melts, lip balms, and more.

We care a lot about where our products come from, how they’re made, and the people we work with—and we’d love to build partnerships with businesses that care about those things too.

So this is where we could use a little help from our community:

Brewed Bee is headed to the Nebraska State Fair!

Starting this Friday, you’ll be able to find a selection of Brewed Bee products inside the Nebraska Building at the Nebraska Beekeepers Association booth through Labor Day.

But the part we’re most excited about? Every purchase from the booth helps support the next generation of beekeepers.

All proceeds from sales at the Nebraska Beekeepers Association booth go toward scholarships for aspiring beekeepers, helping more people get started in an industry that means so much to our family and our business.

And you might even see some familiar faces behind the booth! We’ll be volunteering at the booth:

So if you’re headed to the State Fair, make a stop in the Nebraska Building, check out the booth, learn a little more about Nebraska beekeeping, and do some shopping while you’re there.

No farmers market for us today—but there’s plenty happening at the Bee Boutique. 🍂🐝

We’re staying in Gibbon today and the store will be OPEN 10–2, so we’re making it a good day to come shop the whole store.

What does “local honey” really mean? 🍯

It’s a phrase you see everywhere, but local can mean a lot of different things.

Nebraska alone has incredibly different landscapes from one end of the state to the other. What grows in the Sandhills is different from what grows here in Central Nebraska—and that matters when you’re talking about honey.

Our bees forage right here in Central Nebraska, among the same fields, backroads, and native plants that surround our communities. Depending on the hive and the season, that can mean clover, alfalfa, wildflowers, native blooms, and dozens of other plants within their foraging range.

And all of that ends up influencing what’s inside the jar.

The flowers available to the bees help shape the honey’s color, aroma, flavor, and character. Even from one season to the next, our honey can change slightly based on what was blooming and what the bees chose to forage.

We don’t see those differences as something that needs to be standardized. They’re part of what makes a truly local harvest special.

And when you know your beekeeper, “local” doesn’t have to be a vague marketing term. You can know where the hives are. You can know what grows around them. You can ask what the bees were working that season.

Our honey isn’t just Nebraska honey…It’s Central Nebraska honey. Produced by bees foraging right here at home, and we’re pretty proud of what our little piece of Nebraska tastes like.
