Most nutrition advice is confusing

One expert says cut carbs.
Another says cut fat.
One says count calories.
Another says count points.

Meanwhile, the food industry keeps pumping out new products, new labels, and new reasons to buy things you never needed in the first place.

That’s why I keep it simple.

DITCH IT.

Ditch the added PUFA hiding in processed foods, restaurant oils, dressings, sauces, chips, protein bars, and the endless lineup of “healthy” packaged foods.

EAT IT.

Eat real food. Beef. Eggs. Dairy. Fruit. Potatoes. Rice. Seafood. Foods your great-grandparents would recognize without needing a nutrition degree.

OWN IT.

Stop outsourcing your health to marketing departments. Learn how food actually works. Read labels. Ask questions. Think critically.

Question the label.
Question the narrative.
Question everything.

Because once you understand what you’re eating, nobody can sell you confusion anymore.

F&$k the protein bars

Ever notice how commercials tell us we need more protein?

Everywhere you look, it’s protein bars, protein shakes, protein cereal, protein chips, and protein cookies. Every week there’s a new product promising to solve a problem that humans somehow survived without for thousands of years.

Here’s a crazy thought - what if we just ate more protein?

Eggs. Beef. Fish. Dairy. Shellfish.

Problem solved.

But that doesn’t create a billion-dollar industry. So instead, food companies take highly processed ingredients, slap “20g PROTEIN!” on the front of the package, and convince us we’re making a health decision. Somewhere along the way, we stopped asking a simple question: Why not just eat food that naturally contains protein?

The goal isn’t to become anti-science. The goal is to become anti-confusion. The goal is to think critically and understand the difference between nutrition and nutrition marketing.

When food gets complicated, follow the money.

Question the label. Question the narrative. Question the marketing. Question everything.

Yes, PUFA is a real word. No, I didn't make it up.

PUFA stands for polyunsaturated fatty acid. And before you close this post - stick with me for 30 seconds because this might be the most useful thing you read today.

Here's the deal:

The oils hiding in your salad dressing, your chips, your fried food, and basically every sauce at the grocery store? They're PUFA oils. Soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil. Cheap to make, everywhere in the food supply, and quietly telling your body to stay inflamed 24 hours a day.

Inflamed body = puffy, tired, achy, and holding onto weight for dear life.

The food industry has known this for decades. They just kept calling it "heart healthy vegetable oil" and hoped you wouldn't ask questions.

I'm asking questions. And I'm going to keep asking them right here.

If you've ever wondered why you're doing "everything right" and still not feeling great — this page is for you.
