In June, the Cancer Care Committee awarded $9,000 in assistance to four local neighbors facing cancer.

With a high number of requests this month, the committee carefully prioritized those with the most immediate and critical needs. These grants help cover essential expenses such as rent, mortgage payments, utilities, gas, and medical bills; providing relief when it’s needed most.

Because of the generosity of our donors, local cancer patients can focus on their health and healing instead of financial stress. Thank you for making a difference right here in our community. 💗

🌸 Committee Member Spotlight: Brenda Holden 🌸

After receiving support from the Community Health Foundation’s Cancer Care program during her breast cancer treatment in 2021, Brenda Holden knew she wanted to give back.

“I want to give back to this incredible community that supported me during one of the most unsure times of my life,” she shares.

Since joining the Paint Gillette Pink committee in 2022, Brenda has helped raise awareness and funds for local cancer patients. What inspires her most is hearing the stories of others whose lives have been touched by the generosity of our community.

We are so grateful for Brenda’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others. Thank you, Brenda, for turning your experience into hope for local families.

Congratulations High School Scholarship Recipients!

The Foundation is proud to recognize this year’s high school scholarship recipients: Emily Doherty, Eleana Garcia, Zachary McMillin, Baylee Morris, Kylee Tate, and Addison Rouse.

Each of these outstanding students has demonstrated a passion for healthcare education and a commitment to pursuing careers dedicated to caring for others and strengthening the future of health.

For more than 50 years, supporting students pursuing healthcare careers has remained at the heart of the Foundation’s mission. In fact, scholarship funding is what the Foundation was originally founded on. Since then, more than $3 million in scholarship funds have been awarded to help students achieve their educational goals.

These scholarships not only invest in individual students, but also in the future of healthcare for our communities.
