Sunrise 299 - Nov 19 @ 7:15a

OooOoo spooky looking! This ominous dawn actually cleared out to patchy clouds and lots of sunshine 🌞 today. It was a pretty quiet day, spent some time playing with and grooming MY horses which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Guys. Only ONE MORE SUNRISE on this challenge! That feels crazy! At times 300 seemed like such an impossible number and suddenly here it is. (Also, how is it nearing the end of NOVEMBER?!) I will reflect more on this challenge tomorrow but just want to say thanks for following me along the way on this little journey. They were actually very few days that I skipped or missed along the way which I am proud about. It is going to feel a bit weird to not feel "compelled" to take this daily picture but I am certain that my newfound interest and appreciation of the morning skies will continue on!

Sunrise 298 - Nov 18th @ 7:15a

Annndd back come the clouds! A bit of twilight-y morning skies before it clouded over and looked way too dark for early afternoon. The air has a chill to it that feels like it wants to snow *almost*. Then more rain this afternoon, but the normal drizzly kind, thank goodness!

Got some errands ran and farm chores done before then and now snuggled on the couch planning my weekend before I get back up to make dinner......homemade wild mushroom risotto with foraged mushrooms is on the menu tonight!! Mmm Mmm!

Sunrise 297 - Nov 17th @ 7:15am

LOOK! It's so PRETTY! A seriously golden sunrise on a frosty morning. This led into a beautiful day filled with either clear blue sky or the thin hazy clouds that create a twilight-esque quality of shimmery light to the sky. It was a great fall day to get outside after so many dreary and stormy ones recently. So I went up into the hills and had a lovely hike tromping along old logging roads through the woods looking at mushrooms and pretty views. I feel very cheerful and refreshed!

Sunrise 295 & 296 - Nov 14-15 @ 7:15a

Yup. More of this. It is shaping up to be a very anticlimactic finish to this challenge. 🙎😔

So much water. Luckily not too much mud on the farm. Just wet and gray and windy. P.S. tomorrow doesn't look any more promising. The power is out and my cell battery is draining. All my portable chargers are freaking out...not sure if its that they are old or if my phone is janky. But I may miss tomorrow's sunrise due to no alarm! (Which is fine because.....see photos below)

Sunrise 294 - Nov 13th @ 7:1too
Finally yesterday a bit of a reprieve from the dreary rainy dawns! This was a very welcome sight indeed. Surprising how just a glimpse of sun can really brighten one's outlook. 🌤🌄

As this challenges reaches its end it's interesting to look back over the span of time....nearly 11 months have passed and I have seen so many beautiful sunrises along with dozens just in shades of blues and grays. Clouds in a hundred formations, ethereal fog rising off the fields, and the sun moving across the landscape North to South as the planet turns and seasons change. While I had intended to get out and about and view the dawn from many different locations and this did not happen, there is an equal amazement at watching my own living room view change and evolve over the year. Sure doesn't hurt that the view from home is pretty picturesque most every day!

So take the time to watch closely something constant in your life. A tree, a view, a child. All things in life are constantly changing and we too often forget to actually LOOK and to SEE and to beyond that, appreciate it all.

Sunrise 291-293, Nov 10-12 @ 7a

Sigh. It's been a rough week as far as weather, sunrises, and motivation. Pouring rain many days, flooding in the yards, mud mud mud. Dark so early and getting chillier. I have been just mostly huddled on the couch watching TV and accomplishing little. Will try to finish the challenge strong....only 1 week left, unbelievable!! This year had really gotten away from me after a strong start!

Sunrise 288-290 - Nov 7-9 @ 7am

Daylight savings strikes again! Earlier mornings to catch these last few days of the 300 Sunrise Challenge. Twas another dreary few dawns, so spiced it up with a little fall color in the collage. 😂

I did get some good outdoor time in some brief chunks of sunlight these past 2 days. A little light goes a long way when dark sets in at 4:30p!

🎶 Rain, rain go away, come again some other day! 🎶

It's been a bit....wet....out. I have a new deepening pond growing directly before the door into the chicken run. It's getting tricker to get in there to do chicken chores so this winter might get interesting. This much rain makes for pretty boring mornings as there really is no discernable "dawn". The sky just becomes visible again as darkness lightens up a bit.

Ah well, such is fall in the PNW! Dreary season begins, fire up the woodstove, snuggly blankie and socks, and teakettle!

Sunrise 284 - Nov 3rd @ 7:50a

Now THAT was a sunrise!! Believe it or not, there are no filters or editing done to these pics. The light and colors were just stunning over the space of too few minutes. The rest of the dawn leading up to this was impressive already, but this was staggering in its glory.

Closing in on 300 recorded daybreaks and still can be blown away. Nature is incredible and it is so good to take the time to appreciate it. The best art is living and ever-changing and must be captured and enjoyed before it moves past us like the sun rising behind the clouds.

Sunrise 283 - Nov 2nd @ 7:45a

A fiery sunrise over the Cascades yesterday morning! It was like the sky itself was erupting out of the fogbanks - so cool! There are some incredible photos floating around the Web of this sunrise, but I'm pretty happy with my own little view. 😍

We are having some reverse weather patterns to the spring.....rain-free mornings with breaks in the clouds (leading to some spectacularly colorful dawns).....then clouding over and rain in the later afternoons. It's sure nice to get a lot of the day's chores done before the rain swoops in again!

Sunrise 282 - November 1st @ 8am

What a lovely morning to usher in the 11th month of the year! I will complete this challenge before Thanksgiving, amazing! Yesterday our sunny weekend reprieve came to an end as after this lovely dawn the clouds poured back across the sky and the rain started again. Tis the season of appreciating the beautiful days a little more strongly.....and appreciating the cloud cover that holds in heat and creates less freezing night temps!
