This activity is a weekend win with the kids.

Go out and gather some pine cones, make sure they're clean before laying on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake at 200° F in oven for about 30 minutes. Wait for them to cool and transfer to gallon size storage bag.

Add about 30 drops of favorite essential oils and leave bag sealed for 1-2 weeks. The longer you wait, the stronger the smell. Place out just in time for your holiday celebrations.

Men's Homemade Shave Cream

Nothing out of a can feels as nice or smells as nice as this Homemade Men's Shave Cream! The simple ingredients and your choice of oils make this luxurious shave cream a great gift for the guy who has everything.

The method to create this rich and silky shaving cream is pretty simple, but the dreamy outcome is incredible.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup shea butter
1/4 cup almond oil
2 tsp. of vitamin e oil
1 1/2 Tbsp. baking soda
10-15 drops essential oil of choice

Try Sandalwood, Pine, Cedarwood, Rosemary, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Clove, and Vanilla.

High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter ideal for softening and soothing skin.

Place the shea butter and coconut oil in a pot and heat on low until melted. Stir in the almond oil next, followed by the essential oils you picked. Cedarwood, Lavender, and Vanilla make a great combination.

Place your mixture directly into the refrigerator until almost solid.

Remove from refrigerator, add baking soda and then whip in a hand or stand mixer until light and fluffy.

Transfer to a small, airtight container and enjoy gifting the bliss of essential oils to those special men in your life!

MORE DIY GIFTING IDEAS
Hand Crafted Lip Balm

You can buy new or reuse any container for this DIY. Recycle old Altoids mint tins or lip balm tubes! It’s up to you. Creativity is memorable!

Start with three basic ingredients:

Beeswax beads, coconut oil, and essential oils. You can substitute ingredients, like adding honey instead of coconut oil for a sweeter flavor.

Warm, spiced oils like Cinnamon Bark and Peppermint will give a tingling flush of color to the lips, while soothing essential oils like Lavender and Eucalyptus will feel incredibly soothing. Young Living recommends staying away from photosensitive citrus oils, which could be too harsh on exfoliated lips.

What To Do:

1. The first thing you want to do is put a few metal spoons (2 or 3) in the freezer, used for testing consistency. Stick those in the freezer about 10 minutes before getting started.

2. Add 1/4 cup of coconut oil to a glass measuring cup and pour 1/2 oz. of beeswax pellets on top. A measuring cup works great because it’s glass and it has a spout.

3. On your stovetop in a double boiler, melt the bees wax and coconut oils.

4. Take out your frozen spoons to test the consistency. When you dip the spoon in the melted liquid, it will harden immediately. If it’s the consistency you like, you are done and you can move on to the essential oils. If you want it firmer, melt a bit more beeswax beads. If you want it softer, add a bit more coconut oil. The frozen spoons will allow you to keep testing until you get it perfect!

5. At the end when the beeswax has cooled a bit add about 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil, mix, and immediately pour into the container you picked. It doesn’t take long for the lip balm to harden so in about an hour they will be finished!

HOMEMADE HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS

DIY Diffuser Ornaments

This makes a heartfelt gift for the tree, a housewarming party, baby's first holiday, or to commemorate newlyweds celebrating together.

In a medium sauce pace, mix 1/2 cup of cornstarch, 1 cup baking soda well. Slowly add up to 3/4 cup of water and stir until a milky consistency is made.

Place the saucepan with mixture over LOW heat and stir constantly. The mixture will begin to bubble and then turn into a paste. As soon as the liquid starts to dry up from the pan, remove from heat and mix until a “dough” is formed. Let it cool a bit, since it will be very hot still.

Once cooled a bit, roll the dough out to about 1/4″ thickness and use your favorite cookie cutter to make the desired shapes. This is when you would punch out a hole for hanging, add words, shapes, or imprints if you desire.

Once you're finished, set them to dry on the cooling rack for about 24-48 hours, or until fully dry and hard. Drop your favorite nostalgic essential oils onto the dried ornaments, then wrap them up for gifting or hang them to enjoy! Some most-loved aromas are Christmas Spirit, Pine, Cinnamon Bark, Thieves, Vanilla, Stress Away, and Peppermint.

FIVE THINGS I NO LONGER BUY
5/5

Yep over the counter sleep aids, bye bye. I use several Young Living products in preparation for sleep. This Rutavala roll-on is on sale through tomorrow 👀 during the Black Friday Week sale.

I don't really need to go into detail why more synthetic chemicals are not good for your body. I love the simplicity of using calming oils and diffusing before bed. If this is something you struggle with please send me a message or visit my website, link in bio.

FIVE THINGS I NO LONGER BUY.
4/5

Okay don't freak out about using oil on your face 👀. This has been the best thing I've ever done for myself and my complexion outside of taking care of my gut buddies 😄 with NingXia Red.

This cleansing oil can also be used as a mini spa treatment and it smells heavenly and it's free from all those synthetic creepy chemicals. Also check out Young Living's Savvy Minerals full line of natural cosmetics. Again I love them too.
